CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVEI went straight home from Ariel’s house and checked my office voice mail. There were two messages: one from Jamila and one from Chris Gonzales at Park & Planning. I whipped up a quick scrambled egg-and-salsa sandwich for dinner. According to my wall clock, it was nearly 5:30. I tried Gonzales first, in case he might still be there.
