“Yeah that’s true. What do you intend doing there?” Mary asked.
“I don’t know but I know something’s there waiting for me.” Agnes answered.
“Hmm.?”
“Yeah.”
“Why do you think that?”
“I’m being called.”
This had been the constant thing on Agnes’ mind. What would he meet up there? What if the ones existing up there aren’t human? There’s only one way to find out.
Agnes kept pondering about this day and night. He couldn’t sleep straight. After a lot of thinking, he decided to talk to Mary who promised to help him climb up the mountain.
He got up from his bed and did his morning routine. He went out of his room only to be met with a sweet aroma of food, just in time his stomach growled. He went downstairs to meet Mary but he saw her in the kitchen busy.
“Mom.” He called.
“Yes son.” Mary turned around, Agnes’ stomach growled again. Mary chuckled.
“Eat first. I know you have something to say.” She pushed Agnes to sit on a nearby chair. She handed him a plate filled with food.
“Mom this is too much.” Agnes whined.
“Like you won’t finish it. Now do fast. I have a lot to do. I can’t wait here forever.” Mary exclaimed.
“But mom.” Agnes trailed of when he was met with Mary’s sharp glare. He gulped.
He quickly finished the food. Mary told him to go on a walk with her so they can discuss.
“So what is it on your mind son?” She asked.
Agnes cleared his throat. “I’ve been pondering about asking for the help you promised to render to me.”
“Ohh.” Mary’s mouth formed an ‘O’. “About that. It’s not something really special. It’s just to know what your future holds.”
Agnes eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“There’s this man. He can check what your future is. That way you will know if you are going through the right path or not.” Mary said.
“That’s good. Can we go now?” Agnes asked.
“Son it’s not something you can just do in a blink of an eye. You have to think it through. What if all you’ve been doing has to be put to a stop? Do you know what it means?”
“Yes I know. That’s why I’m doing this. I don’t want to make a mistake that will take me away from my loved ones.” He answered.
Mary nodded. She told Agnes how far they had to go to reach the said man’s residence. They took horses and rode for a long while. “It’s here.” Mary pointed at a little but not too far away.
They got off the horses and walked a little before getting inside.

Some days later after they went to the sorcerer’s abode Agnes decided to give his friends some last speech before going. He even talked to his brothers to love one another so they can be stronger being together.
After talking with everyone else, he saves the last speech for his parents. He went upstairs to his parents’ room. He heaved a deep sigh before knocking on the door. Upon the second knock he heard a soft ‘come in’. He opened the door and went in, he saw Mary sobbing in Anapheus’ arm.
“Mom. Dad. I guess this is it then.” He began.
“I don’t want to leave you guys. I really don’t want to but I can’t stay here when my whole being is somewhere else. My whole being is longing to be somewhere else. I’m sorry Mom, Dad. I promise to come back alive and well. This is my promise to you.”
“Come here boy.” Anapheus beckoned on Agnes to come take a hug. Mary shifted so they can both take a group a hug.
After hugging for a while, Mary sniffles then said, “That’s a promise. Don’t die. I’m waiting to hear what’s up there. Don’t stay too long, Don’t make me come there, ok?” Mary pleaded with eyes filled with tears.
Agnes nodded. “Mom trust me. Nothing would hurt me. Dad trained me to be a great warrior. Just the mention of my name many will run and tremble with fear.”
Mary smiled.
Anapheus released him from the hug and tap him on the shoulder. “I trust you Son. Be a great warrior and don’t forget all I’ve taught you. Don’t underestimate an opponent.”
Agnes smiled and said he remembered everything. He even recited all the war quotes and lessons he’s been taught since a child.
Later in the night, they all ate and merry. They sang and played. Though they did all of that with a heavy heart, they had to give him a good send off. After a while, everyone retired to their room. Agnes went inside and began to prepare. He took little clothings and a sword, then he lied down waiting for the day to break.
