The Sun Room Prophecy

1493 Words
Bali the Chiva: My name is Bali, I am a Chiva, a human species with extraordinary abilities. The Chivas are known because of their eyes which are different in color from that of an average human. On top of that, we Chivas have a gift, magic. I may be the only survivor of my clan's people. I've been locked up in this cave for twenty years now. I should already be dead but I too don't know how come I'm not dead. Twenty years ago, my sister Luna and I helped a woman deliver her baby. According to the prophecy this child is destined to save our world from an imminent end of the world. But when this baby was born, something had happened. **** Twenty years ago **** "What a pity, we were wrong" said my mother Yavala almost with tears in her eyes after noticing that the newborn was not breathing. "Why do I refuse to believe this is the end?" refused to believe Luna, my sister. "The baby can still be saved, mother," I said. "How?" asked Yavala. "The Sun Room has the power to..." "I forbid you to talk about the room of the sun, no one will go there!" Yavala made me understand, interrupting me. "It's too late, mother" I told her. Despite the hesitation in my eyes, I raised my right hand and a blue light appeared in front of us. "What? Did you open the portal?" shouted Yavala in shock of astonishment. "I refuse to let this child die when we have a solution at hand." I told Yavala. "But the sun room isn't a solution, it's more like suicide, my dear daughter. Luna please reason with your sister." “I would like to, but it was me who had the idea” let know Luna. "I finally understand that you are both crazy, but I won't let you do it!!" Yavala implied. "Sorry, mother, but you can't stop us anymore. Look under your feet," Luna said. Our mother actually looks down and sees that she was in a circle drawn with black powder. She couldn't believe it, her anger became great. Luna has the power to immobilize people. It was her power that she used against our mother that day. "We refuse to wait another century for another chance to save the world." I told my mother. "You are making a big mistake." repeated Yavala. "That's surely what we need, to accept making this mistake." I replied after taking the baby. Then with the baby, I go through the gate. Luna follows me and before the magic portal I opened closes, our mother gasps away the child's father who also enters the blue light. "Good luck to you" says Yavala very sad. The portal carried me, Luna, the baby, and Luna's father down a hallway. "I recognize this corridor, we are no longer far from the sun room." I said "What do we do with him?" Luna asks. "Mother wanted him to follow us, he will have to make himself useful." I answered him. "Then let's wake him up" Luna ordered. With the help of my sister we finally woke up the baby's father after saying some magic words. "Where am I? Where is my wife?" asks the baby's father, when he can hardly see well. "You are in the hallway leading to the sun room" The baby's father tried to attack me and my sister. But Luna on the alert managed to stop him just by raising his left hand. The baby's father is now immobile despite his efforts to move. "Your child is born, I hope you don't want a stillborn," Luna chimes in. "What happened to my child?" "He's not breathing, let's say he's stillborn" I replied sadly, looking at the body of the baby I was holding in my arms. "Ivan, that the name his mother wanted him to be given. She was so convinced that she would give birth to a boy," says the baby's father, who begins to cry. "Your wife is not dead and with a bit of luck we can bring your son back to life," says Luna. "How is it possible?" asks the baby's father. "The Sun Room is renowned for bringing back to life. We are counting on it to bring your son back to life." I tell to reassure him. "I don't know whether to believe you or not, but I have no choice but to hope." let the baby's father know. "I will free you from my grip which prevents you from moving, I hope you will not try to attack us again." Luna asked the baby's father. "No, I promise. I have no reason to attack you." said the baby's father when he immediately felt free to move. "We have no more time to lose." I said. Me, Luna and the Baby's father, very discreetly walked towards the room of the sun while avoiding the few soldiers in the corridor leading to this room. Once in front of the entrance door of the room. "Why don't you go in there?" the baby's father asked, when he saw Luna and I stopped in front of the door. "We don't have the key..." Luna replies. «What!" exclaims the baby's father? "It's not that bad, I can enter the sun room." Luna said. "No Luna, don't do this, it's too risky." I yelled. "We've already taken the risk by coming here. All it takes is for one of the king's soldiers to see us and we're dead." defended Luna. "You're going to die, do you realize that?" Hearing this, the baby's father takes a step back, looking very oddly at Luna and me. "We barely met or you don't even know me. Why are you doing all this?" wanted to know the father of the baby. "I wish I had time to explain everything to you, but your child's life is in danger at the moment." Luna replies him. Luna takes the baby from my hands after immobilizing me. I couldn't stop her from doing what she planned to do. I could only watch her. "I'm giving us every chance to succeed. To get there, there's always a price to pay," Luna told me before teleporting away with the baby. She barely left and I found my mobility, I could move again. My tears came by themselves because I knew the fate of my sister once in that room. "It's no longer worth waiting for her to come back." I said to the baby's father. "Don't despair, I still have faith that she will come back. I don't know why but I still have hope." said the baby's father. "You don't understand the gravity of what she did" I told him. "It's time we got out of here." "I will not leave here without my son" insisted the baby's father. "Your son probably made it, but Luna is already dead by now" I was certain about that. Three palace soldiers on patrol noticed us intruding outside the door to the sun room. "Do not move!" Ordered the soldier in the middle. "We've been spotted" I said. "What are we going to do now?" The baby's father asked me as the soldiers closed in on us. "We're going to face them, I don't have enough strength to teleport us from here yet" I answer him, putting my hands in evidence. When the soldiers approach, one of them kicks the baby's father in the stomach. The other two are interested in me. "So my dear what did you come here to do?" asked one of the two soldiers who approached me. "I lost my way, excuse me very much," I reply. "Woo-woo-woo! Do you take us for fools?" One of the soldiers questioned me. "I never said that." I replied in a polite manner. "No one enters here without going through the main entrance, how come no guard could prevent you from entering?" asks one of the soldiers. "They were all asleep so we didn't want to disturb them" "You keep lying to us and I'm slitting your throats, you and your husband," said one of the two guards in front of me. "Sir and madam, you are under arrest" said the soldier in front of the baby's father. "You're going to have to explain to us what you're doing here and how you got in." he added. The soldiers then took me prisoner under this cave. They kept me away from others because I'm a Chiva. This cave robs us of our strength, that's why they lock us up here. I expected them to come and behead me one day but they never came back. ****Nowadays**** Today I ask myself so many questions about the father of the baby as well as about the baby. What have they become? I only hope that my sacrifice and that of my sister Luna will not be in vain.
