Two days had passed since the break-in, the photographs, and the endless questions that seemed to follow them everywhere, yet none of it had truly left my mind. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to outrun the feeling that somebody was watching from somewhere just beyond my reach. Even now, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the luxury hotel suite Kash had booked, my thoughts refused to settle. The city stretched endlessly beneath me, glittering with thousands of lights against the dark evening sky, and the view should have been enough to steal my attention. It was beautiful.
