I stood pacing on the balcony it was already 9:30 p.m. and Kelvin wasn't back yet this was one of the many nights that he kept late at night and I was always scared to ask you where he had been.
And even when I tried to ask him certain questions he pushed me away like I was a fly who needed no attention.
I was worried about him for the past two days I had neither set my eyes on his shadow nor heard his voice and with the recent crime and happenings which had been going on downtown, I was really scared that something might happen to him.
Recently some rival mafia gangs had killed two men and tossed their bodies in the nearby river. It has been all over the news and the police were having a difficult time trying to fish out the culprit.
Not just that two sickening k********g cases had sprouted forth like a little tree and clubs and been left disorganized in the dead of the night.
I don't want to think that if something happens to Kelvin then I would be the youngest widow in the history of my family. It meant that my life was going to shatter again and again and to think that no one knew that I was pregnant thanks to the baby bump which wasn't showing.
I glanced at my stomach and rubbed it gently, I kept calling him over and over again but he wasn't picking and sometimes the called had ended abruptly.
Fear clutched at my heart when I remembered that he might be in danger and he might need help beside he was filthy rich and it was going to attract those mafia gangs to him.
I prayed silently that no harm would come to him only if I knew any of his friends or family members then this could be easy for me.
Just then I heard the honking of a car, glancing down from the balcony I watched as a scar glided into the compound and I could swear that my heart leaped for joy that instant but upon closer look, I found out that it was not just one car but three.
Well, it didn't matter now what mattered was that he was home safe and sound.
I didn't wait to watch him come out of the car before I raced out of my room.
Just halfway out of my, I had him discussing with someone in the other living room I thought he was all alone when I ducked my head I found out he was with three other men with faces as strong as steel, and large muscles all dressed in a black suit I thought I hadn't called closer look I found out that each of them was holding a gun and I let out a gasp.
I looked closely at Kelvin I realized he also was holding which he closed on the nearby couch.
I flinched and my heart gave a mad jump as I tried to understand what was happening my eyes almost fell out of their socket while trying to grasp everything, I never knew the man I was married to.
"How could you have let him escape." I heard Kelvin barked he pulled off his suit and threw it on the chair next to him ." I told you strictly to watch his every movement and you let him escape."
"But Boss we were not aware of his movement what was even more shocking was that his family members never knew about this."
I watched him turn to face them as he lit up a cigarette and puffed out smoke before he spoke again.
"What do you mean by his family were not aware that he was running away."
"We went to the address which we tracked down and found his wife and daughter there."
Kelvin nodded.
" You have to keep them locked up." He said and there was silence before he dragged on the cigarette and continued.
" I was thinking that after killing his friend and dumping the body in the river, he was going to come to his senses."
At the mention of that, I let out a soft gasp and held my beating chest. Without waiting to hear any further words I turned around and raised to my room.
My vision blurred as I shut the door behind me my back leaning on it, my eyes dancing in my head in fear and shock, I still couldn't believe what I just heard.
The man I married was just not any other man he was a killer, I have been the first to marry a murderer just to pay off a family debt.
With shaky legs I went to the bed and sat on it, I was visibly shaking, I was still sitting down there when I had the cars drive out of the compound, and in a few minutes, I heard feet approaching and the door swung open.
He stood there for a while staring at me before walking into the room.
" Why were you eavesdropping on my conversation."
I was stunned, I didn't say one thing that someone had seen me let alone know I was eavesdropping.
" I was.." I stuttered.
" Don't you dare lie to me." He said in a low voice.
" You are a killer," I said in a very small voice which was barely above in whisper.
He tilted his head.
" So you were not informed." He laughed.
" Who are you ?" I said raising to my feet.
He paused and said.
" I am your husband, Kelvin Montessori. Some call me King of the night but I prefer to be called Capo."
