I grabbed him by the chin to have him lock eyes with me. “You’re still beautiful to me. Don’t ever think otherwise. You look like this only because you were healed from a horrible attack.” He stared back with increased breathing. Then he pointed at his scars, a deeper frown spanning his face. He shed more tears, crying in silence. My heart took a dip in a pool of sympathy. “Oh, Viktor. I know, I know. It was a hate crime by an evil person with extremist views. I mean…you were dead. And that fatherly voice you heard earlier? The owner of it revived you somehow.
