Chapter 6- kidn*pped part two

(Xander POV)

I hear footsteps running up behind me then I see Liam enter the room. He gasps at what he sees before him. The bed is disheveled, there’s a small pool of blood on the floor, the scent being Vals’ and the window is smashed. The pool of blood explains why Vals’ scream stopped short, Mark must have hit her hard to knock her out.

I growl at the thought of little one being harmed, Liam looks like he is ready to commit murder. Already my beta is thinking of Val as his Luna and wanting to protect her. I could feel my pack becoming restless as they smelt Vals’ scent with Marks’, Mark is not even trying to cover up his scent. Something is wrong, something just doesn’t add up.

I then receive an attempted mind link. Xander. Please tell me you get this.

At first I am reluctant but then I realize that the mind link is coming from someone outside of our pack, otherwise I would have been able to sense them as well as hear them. I don’t know who it is so I answer with malice encase it’s the enemy. Who dares to force a mind link with me? Who do you think you are? I don’t have time for this for f***s sake! Danny coming through at the end, angry that his mate is missing and it happened under our noses.

Please listen to me, I am Alex, Vals’ brother. I have been alpha ordered into remaining in my room so I cannot physically help. But I know Alpha Mark plans on taking Val to the dungeons, they are South East in your territory. Mark will confuse you by running North to draw you away from the dungeons as they only sit just inside of his territory. Please, ignore him and head South East. At first I am shocked, I though Alex was part of Marks pack, but then I remember how he was when I found Val, all he cared about was her safety. Maybe, just maybe, he can be trusted. I saw the love in his eyes and he must have gone against his Alpha to protect Val and get her out of there

Why should I trust you? I respond warily.

You have already met me Alpha and I only want to keep Val safe. I do not know what Alpha Mark has planned for Val but his plans has increased drastically since he found out that she can break an alpha order placed on her and others. There is something about Val that makes Alpha Mark want her, and I know that if he succeeds in getting her back here then she will never be free again and I want her safe and free. I decide to trust him, everything he just said came across with only the purest of intentions.

Please Alpha Xander, it’s too late for me but I beg you to please save my sister. My heart breaks at the last sentence, Alex must have collapsed as the mind link ended. I knew that Val was special but if what Alex said is true, then Val could be the prophesized one. That would explain why Mark is after her so bad.

I fill Liam in on what has just transpired, at first Liam is as apprehensive as I am but we decide to follow Alex’s advice but play Mark at his own game. I mind link my warriors and order half of them to go after Alpha Mark and try to catch him, I order the other half to head South East and spread out to block Marks’ path to his territory.

“Liam, I want you to come with me. No matter what we are to get Val back here safe and sound. Even if that means you have to leave me, is that understood?”

Liam turns to me, shock all over his face, “But Alpha, we need you to run this pack. We cannot function without you.”

“Yes you can, you and Ray can take over if needed until I am able to return but I cannot function with Val so she is top priority. Understood?” I add my Alpha tone to make him comply, I hate doing that with my Gamma and Beta but at the moment I just don’t have the time to argue.

“Yes Alpha” Liam shows his neck in submission.

We both take off, heading South East just as Alex had suggested. We break from the trees and enter a clearing which is between mine and Alpha Marks’ territory. I see that my warriors are in place but they are all hiding their scents, whoever suggested this was very smart. I smile at myself, thinking how they are already thinking ahead of how we could outwit Mark. There is no denying his strength, I may be a few years younger than him but in a fight we are evenly matched, however in wits many can beat him at. Therefore, when in a fight with Mark it is best to fight with your head rather than your fists. It appears my pack knows this and is using this knowledge to the best of their ability.

My head whips up to the smell of my mate, I am fuming when I see a huge grey wolf with red eyes dragging an unconscious Val in his mouth. The wolf however appears to be doing so reluctantly, could it be that Mark is more powerful than his wolf? That is unheard of but no impossible, he is not called the cruel alpha for nothing. I may be the cold alpha but even I would never do half of what Alpha Mark has done, he goes by no one’s riles but his own and even then he can flip in an instant and become violent.

I see all of my warriors and Liam stiffen at the sight of Val, there is blood on her head, her nightie has been torn in numerous places and parts of her body are covered in blood and scratches. Wolf sight can be a blessing but in this instance I wish I did not have it, then I would not be able to see how much pain my little one will be in when she wakes up. I can only hope that she wakes up with me near and not with Alpha Mark.

I step out from between the trees and head towards Mark, his wolf whimpers and starts to walk towards me before his eyes change from red to brown. Alpha Mark then starts to change, I notice his eyes change red for a few seconds which is when Val is released by being thrown away and towards my beta who runs forwards and grabs her just before she hits the ground. I let out the breath I was holding before turning to Alpha Mark, he has already changed back into his human form.

(Vals’ POV)

I wake up to pain, at first I think that it must be the pain medication not working until the memories of what happened come flooding back. Alpha Mark was in my room and hit me, knocking me out cold. I feel hands in my hair and realize that I am being held up by my hair, which is going to hurt later. I move my hands up to try to relieve some of the pressure, which sort of works because whoever is holding my hair lets it go to grab my wrists instead. I look up and realize that Alpha Mark has me.

I look around and see Xander and half a dozen of his men as well as Alpha Marks men behind us. I guess we are at the border between both of their territories. I try to get out of Alpha Marks’ grip and go to Xander but the grip tightens, with Mark pulling me closer to him and placing both of my wrists into one of his hands while the other travels down and wraps around my hips, effectively pinning me to him.

“She is coming with me Xander. I know she is you mate but don’t worry, she won’t be for long. I am not doing this to spite you, I want her. I want the power she has. I want her to be mine” Alpha Mark mutters the last part, only Mark, myself and Xander being able to hear it. I become shocked and look at Alpha Mark while Xander lets out a loud growl.

Some members of Xanders pack step forward out of the trees, the numbers are massive. They start to walk forward, coming to a stop in a line just behind Xander in a show of solidarity. I see one behind Xander smile at me and when he notices I’m looking he winks at me too. This gesture reminds me of an interaction between close friends or siblings. But Mark does not see it this way, instead he pulls me even closer to him which results in my breathing being slightly restricted.

“You are outnumbered Mark and you are currently in my territory, your pack cannot help you without starting a war. Hand Val over to us and we will let you go, that is all we are after.” Xander states loudly, holding out his hands for me to grab, which I would if I could.

“You are being sill Xander, as if I would listen to you. We both know that you can never beat me, you had to bring your whole pack just to be able to stand up to me. That is how sad and pathetic you are.”

“No Mark, they all came of their own accord. They all want to help get their future Luna home safe and sound. She is still healing from her injuries sustained weeks ago, only coming out of a coma a few days ago. Her body cannot take much more Mark. For Goddess sake let her go!” Xander shouts.

This is the first time I have ever seen Xander angry and I must admit that I do not want to see this side of him again if I can help it. I try to get to Xander, but I stop when I notice someone coming up behind Xander. “XANDER! LOOK OUT!” I shout, before a hand is clamped over my mouth. I watch in horror as the person walks up to Xander and tries to stab him in the back, I see the knife enter Xander but luckily he moved at the last minute and it only nicked his arm but the other person grabs Xander and knocks him down. They get into a fight, even though Xander is bigger and stronger the other person turns into a wolf and lunges for Xander.

I look at Xander standing with his pack, two of them holding him up with blood pouring from the wound in his abdomen, looking pale. I watch in amazement as the wound heals quickly, leaving only a faint scar.

“SUBMIT TO ME!” Alpha Mark roars. “It’s either you submit, the b***h submits or your whole pack will be destroyed as I will kill the both of you. I have had enough” I look at Xander who is wavering as he wants to step forward and either fight or worse. I shake my head, Xander is willing to sacrifice his life for me, that much is clear to me now, but while I cannot fight I can save him. I may not be able to help massively but I can at least protect one person, someone I have fallen in love with from a miserable fate.

“If I submit to you, will you let me live in my own place, left alone for a while to gather my thoughts and life?” I ask, shocking Mark, Xander and everyone in the field.

Alpha Mark lets out a loud laugh, “You have no place to bargain with me b***h. You submit to me and I will allow you to live in my room unharmed, but you cannot leave my room unless told to and you are mine. Got it?!” I gulp but cannot see another way out of this, besides an alpha deal must be upheld and if he puts me anywhere else then he will lose some of his alpha strength. I don’t know much about werewolves but I know enough.

I pull my hands from his hands and kneel in front of him, “I submit to you Alpha Mark.” I hear a collective gasp behind me. Xander comes rushing forward and grabs me, “no, you are not to submit to him, please. I need you. The pack needs you. Ill trade places with her”

I am about to respond when Alpha Mark grabs me by my arms and pulls me up. “She is mine now. And no, you will not trade places with her.” He then chucks me towards two warriors who grab me with somber expressions on their faces. Of course, how could I forget? They think I’m worthless because I am human.

“That’s not the reason Luna.” One of them whispers to me before they lead me back to Alpha Marks’ territory and my life of submission.
