Chapter 17- Unknown Enemy

997 Words
(Unknown POV) She is back, after two years away she is finally back. I saw her years ago when she was a small girl and I felt something pull me to her but I didn’t know what it was so I left her. I would always make sure she was safe, even though I could not protect her from her father who I made suffer when she left. I cannot believe he sold his own daughter for protection, not that he bloody needed it, I think it was more to just get rid of her and to have something over Alpha Mark. Over two years ago she was almost in my grasp but then that bloody Alpha Mark took her and treated her horrifically. My spies told me everything that he did to her, my princess went through so much at his hands. When she was free of him I was going to take revenge but the moon goddess had other plans for him, he has lost everything. I tried to find her and almost came close about a year ago but it was like she suddenly disappeared off the face of the Earth and I didn’t hear or feel anything again until a few days ago. I sigh, I felt her re-enter the Norfolk barrier but I wanted to be sure it was her so I sent two of my spies to follow them and intercept. Just my luck that she is mated to the most powerful Alpha, he is almost a king in the werewolf world. But then the idiots decided to try to take her then and there, they were specifically told to just introduce themselves and try to ascertain if it was really her. I look up at the ceiling wondering how to plan my next move. Apparently she is stronger and more cautious now than she was two years, meaning that just taking her will be a lot harder to take forcefully than before. Or I could spend time worming my way into her life, becoming indispensable and then when the chance arises take her? I think about it long and hard and decide that that is the best course of action I could take. That way she will trust me, Alpha Johnny will never see it coming and she will finally be mine. I smile to myself and start to put plans into place. ****************************** 3 days later Here I am sitting in this boring meeting when all I want to do is leave and meet up with her. I thought I couldn’t get her out of my head before, now is even worse but I don’t mind. I could not have wished for that meeting to go any better than it did. I smile thinking back on it. A few hours earlier I am walking around town as I had heard that she would be here today. All of a sudden I see her and the breath leaves my body, she is so beautiful. I stop dead in my tracks, unable to move which works out to be the best move as she barrels into me not paying attention to where she is going. I could have taken the impact but I decide to fall backwards, pulling her with me. Both of us stay still for a minute before she speaks, “I am so sorry sir, I was not looking where I was going. Please let me help you up.” She climbs off of me and then holds her hand out to me once she has stood up, it is then that our eyes meet. It feels like everyone around us has disappeared, in this moment all I want to do is be with this woman. I slowly reach out and take her hand, standing up but I continue to hold her hand. “I apologise for tripping you up, please let me make it up to you.” “It’s ok, that teaches me for standing on the path instead of to the side while trying to get my bearings. How can you make it up to me?” I ask curiously. “Well, I could buy you a new cup of coffee to replace the one I accidently spilt all over you.” I look down and realise that my shirt is covered in coffee, I internally groan. Great, now I will have to sit in my meeting with a coffee stained shirt. Oh well, it is totally worth it. “I wouldn’t want to inconvenience you my dear, its ok. I was almost finished it anyway.” “Are you kidding me? I spilt what looks like almost a whole cup over you. Please let me make it up to you. Look I need to go as I have a meeting but how about I buy you a coffee afterwards? I’ll meet you at the coffee shop over there in about three hours?” I look to where she is pointing, it is a quaint little coffee shop that is expensive but does good coffee and cake. I sigh, “Ok, I’ll meet you there in there hours.” “Thank you.” She smiles and pulls her hand back, mine beginning to feel cold from the loss of her touch. I watch as she begins to walk away, but then she stops and turns to look at me again, “by the way, I’m Val.” “Nice to meet you Val. I’m Xavier” I reply, smiling at her. I hear her breath slightly hitch as I tell her my name. She then smiles at me before turning around and continuing on her journey. I smile to myself, I guess she may remember me after all. Or at least my name. I will have her, I think to myself, she will be mine. I head back to my office and order a clean shirt to be brought to my room before the meeting.
