Chloe didn’t know how to react to the hug. It was just so sudden and unexpected, but it sort of gave her a feeling of relief that seemed to chase her worries away. She stood there, silent in his arms, for a while. Never in her life did she imagine that a hug could feel this good. She had no idea being hugged by Ethan would make her feel this secure.
Ethan continued to hold her in his arms, his warmth enveloping her. Chloe felt her body begin to relax, almost as if some unseen force had taken away her worries. For a brief moment, she forgot about her fears and doubts, instead basking in the comfort of his embrace.
