He began with a high roundhouse kick. Melissa ducked and felt a rush of air as his foot passed over her. Heart pounding, she backed away from him and rose with her fists up in a fighting stance. “I don't want to fight you.” Aiden came forward, punching. Crouching slightly, Melissa reached up to seize his wrist with both hands. She lifted it above her head, spun around beneath it and then forced Aiden to bend double. A kick to the back of his knee knocked him off his feet. Aiden toppled over, landing on his backside and grunting on contact. He rolled out of the way before she could press her attack. Not that she would have. She still had some hope that he might be saved. A moment later, he was rising and kicking a rock, sending it flying toward her with a touch of Bent Gravity. Melissa
