I prayed silently to the Moon Goddess… Please no, not her.
“Her doctor came by today,” Miriam said softly. “Some of her numbers were off…”
My wolf went still.
“And she had a minor heart attack tonight. Nothing major, she’s resting now after her medication.”
I closed my eyes, pressing my fingers against my temple as tension spiked through me.
A heart attack, even a minor one… for a wolf like Clara, already weakened, wasn’t small.
“Victor still isn’t home, is he?” I asked, my voice quieter now.
There was a pause.
“Not yet.”
I swallowed, forcing my voice steady. “Alright. Thank you, Miriam. Please keep a close eye on her.”
“Of course, Luna Ava. Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
The call ended.
I let out a long breath, my chest tight, something heavy pressing down on me.
