I didn’t wait for anyone to react. I walked out of the VIP room and didn’t stop walking. Not until I was far enough away that even my wolf stopped listening for their voices.
For five years, I had believed, foolishly, that taking the fall for Laura would make them change their ways toward me.
I believed they would have even a fragment of guilt and treat me better.
