"Janet mentioned the Eastern delegation will be arriving today," I said, watching his expression carefully. "You forgot to mention that as well,” My voice took on a nasally tone that sounded dangerously similar to my mother's nagging. I had to blink myself back into reality and of course momentary horror. The amusement vanished from his face, replaced by something else, something darker. The thought of the East was enough to sour his mood. "They weren't expected until in three days," he explained in a rather annoyed tone, his voice hardening. "But yes, they've made good time. They'll be here for the feast tonight and till the full moon is gone," "And you didn't think I might want to prepare for that?" I kept my voice low, conscious of the eyes on us, but couldn't hide my frustration.
