Something was strange about her, yet I couldn't pinpoint what exactly it was. I had my reasons for bringing her here, selfish cruel reasons I knew she'd hate me for, yet... there were other reasons, I realized. Something was off about this woman. I watched as her chest rose and fell steadily, her guard down as she succumbed to slumber. Her face was relaxed, those calculating green eyes closed, making her look more like an angel and less like a wolf with both a bark and a bite. I wanted to look away but couldn't. Something was off, I repeated in my mind as I stepped off the bed, dragging my eyes away from her sleeping form. I had never been one to be controlled by my body's desires, one to be moved by what my wolf craved rather than what was necessary, yet here I was, fingers hovering
