Before I could respond, we were interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps. A group of warriors, at least seven of them, fresh from training by the look of their workout gear, rounded the corner. Their easy laughter died when they spotted us. I immediately went stiff, the weight of their wolves’ power that emanated from them was enough to make my heart race. Okay, I was intimidated. A lot.
