I woke up in our dark room a little before five and rolled over to see Aric still sleeping beside me. I placed a soft kiss on his lips and watched his eyelids flutter open. He blinked a few times before his eyes landed on mine and gave me a bright smile.
“Good morning, handsome,” I whispered.
He pulled me into him and placed his own kiss on the top of my head, “good morning, baby.”
I reluctantly pulled away from him and rolled to get out of bed, but before I could stand up Aric wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me back against him.
“As much as I would love to stay in bed with you all day, we have training,” I laughed.
He placed a soft kiss on my shoulder, “are you sure you don’t want to take another day?” he asked, “you had a long weekend,” he reminded me.
