Veronica I opened my eyes as the soft light of morning flowed through the bedroom window. As I blinked away the sleep from my eyes I remembered the conversation I had with Selene and I shot upright in bed. Aric launched himself out of bed, ready to attack the nonexistent intruder. After he looked around the room and saw no threat he looked at me with a confused and concerned look on his face. “I’m sorry,” I croaked, my throat still sore from sobbing the night before.
