Walker and Meriwa were barely out of the kitchen when they heard a small, distinctly female squeak off to their right. It reminded her of a mouse, a small, furry thing that supposedly made similar noises. Of course, she’d never seen one in real life, so she had no experience with such a thing. Only the experiences that she’d somehow stolen. Meriwa had experienced the visions for as long as she could remember; perhaps before she’d even opened her eyes for the first time. Times and places long gone, people that she’d never truly known. Would never know. As far as she figured, they were all dead. They had to be. How could she have the memories of those still living?
