There were a number of downsides to living almost completely off the grid, isolated from modern life and modern luxuries. Like being able to order take-out of any cuisine your heart might desire when you were five coffees deep in a study session with no end in sight. Or being able to veg out to the copious amounts of rubbish television when said studying was finally done, and your finals were a thing of the not-so-distant past.
But cell phones might be the biggest one.
