The storm has been brewing for days, but now, as I stand in my bakery, its power fully settles over me. Weeks have passed since Victor crossed my path, and I should be thankful for the peace. No surprises, no confrontations. Just the quiet flow of life. But it’s also been weeks since that night with Sebastian, a night when the outside world faded away. I still remember how he held me, his lips pressed against mine, as if he feared he’d never get another chance. Thinking about it makes my stomach flip and my cheeks flush. Right now, the wind howls outside, and the temperature in the bakery feels colder. “Selina,” Celine calls from the counter, flipping through the bakery’s inventory. “How are we looking here?” I pull away from the window, where I’ve been watching the snow turn to ice.
