QUESTIONS

Blaire I stood in front of the bathroom mirror brushing my hair ready for bed. I observed myself and noted that I looked tired, I could almost see bags under my eyes. It wasn’t easy being the next Luna of a pack you didn’t even belong to yet. Luna Calliope had been nothing but kind to me and I was grateful for the confidence she seemed to have in me. Although, I was sure a lot of it was Esme. Now me and Esme would have to prepare for the arrival of the luna’s mother’s pack, and we now only had 24 hours to do so. I hadn’t really seen Mason much these last few days, what with his brother nearly dying and the pack being under attack from rogues. I still didn’t know much about Logan, only the little Mason had told me which really wasn’t much to go on. Esme seemed to spend a lot of time with him when he was here, she practically begged to be the one to set up his room. I wondered if I would get the chance to get to know him better while he was stuck here. He seemed to be really important to Mason, which meant that getting to know him wasn’t an option, it was a must. I continued brushing my hair, deep in thought. Mason was still out on patrol, and wouldn’t be back for a while I realised. I placed my brush down and headed into the bedroom, deciding to get some sleep before he came back. It was strange, since he marked me we had done little more than share a kiss here and there. It was almost as if he was not interested now that he had me. Instead we would just spend the little time we had together talking, getting to know one another better. At least he was putting the effort into getting to know me I guess. I was probably overthinking everything, after all I was in a new place with new people and nothing was normal for me right now. I climbed into bed, pulling the duvet over me and snuggled into my pillow. Sleep - this is exactly what I needed. - I awoke to the sound of the bedroom door closing. I pulled my head out from under the covers to watch Mason as he walked through the room into the bathroom. I knew he probably hadn’t realised that he had woken me up yet as I heard him get into the shower. I quietly got out of bed, stripping my silk shorts off followed by my matching cami top and creeped into the bathroom. As I stepped into the bathroom I realised that his back was facing towards me. Perfect. I opened the shower door, just enough to slide through and wrapped my arms around my mate from behind. I could never get tired of the way his skin felt against mine, the bolts of electricity I felt shoot through my skin every single time. “Well hello to you too” Mason smirked, turning around to face me now. “I’m sorry did I wake you?” He asked before planting a soft kiss on my lips. “No, I was awake” I lied, not wanting him to feel guilty. In this moment with Mason stood in front of me completely exposed, I felt a surge of lust coarse through my body. God he was sexy. And he was mine. I decided to take my shot, standing on my tiptoes and crashing my lips against his. He pulled me tighter to him, our naked bodies rubbing against each other. I felt my need to have him grow, and I didn’t know how long I could resist him. Mason placed his hands on my arse, and pulled me up to wrap my legs around him. He turned me and pushed me against the wall, covering my neck in kisses. “God you do things to me” he murmured in my ear as he came up for breath. Before I had a chance to respond to him he entered me, causing me to loudly moan in pleasure. I had forgotten the pleasure having him inside me brought. My mind was clouded, and all I could think about was how much I wanted my mate in every way I could have him. He built up a rhythm, thrusting in and out of me as I screamed in pleasure. “Harder, please, please, harder” I begged as my orgasm built inside of me. I knew that I would not be far off. Instead of continuing, Mason shut off the water and stepped out of the shower, never once letting go of me or slipping out. He carried me through to the bedroom and flipped me onto the bed. Mason stood over me, his eyes trailing up and down my body as he licked his lips. “You’re perfect” he breathed, before joining me on the bed. His head was now in between my legs as he trailed little kisses in between my thighs. He plunged his mouth in between my legs, his tongue playing with my c**t. I grabbed the rail on the bed behind me as the intensity built up inside me and I felt myself coming to my climax. “Mason” I felt myself come to a release as I moaned his name. “You taste so good baby” he groaned as he brought his lips to meet mine. “More please” I begged, not ready for it to be over. If I could, I would have him over and over. “Of course baby” he smiled. I grabbed onto his hair as he entered me once again, bringing me instant pleasure. He moved in and out of me, thrusting close to bringing me to a climax again already. I felt Mason come to his release shortly after as my nails dug into his back, closely followed by my release. He climbed off from on top of me laying onto his side and pulled me in to him. “I’ve missed you” he gasped, trying to catch his breath. “I’ve missed you too” I replied, trying to savour this moment with my mate. “You’ve just been so busy, I feel like I’ve barely had any time with you.” Mason sighed behind me and I felt his breath against my ear. “I know I’m sorry. It’s not like I’ve just left you completely alone though, you have Esme” he replied, trying to reassure himself most likely I thought to myself. Was that really going to be his excuse? Sorry I haven’t been around much but hey you can just hang out with your best friend who’s in love with me! Surely he couldn’t be that stupid to think that I was completely comfortable being left with Esme 24/7. It wasn’t that I didn’t care about her, she was still my best friend but that didn’t make the fact that she was in love with my mate any easier. “Yeah I guess you’re right” I replied, not wanting to get into an argument with him. We still hadn’t spoken about the situation with Esme, but from what I had heard her feelings had not been one sided. Did his feelings for her really just disappear once he recognised me as his mate? I wasn’t so sure. Esme “Morning Blaire, are you ready for this?” I asked as I took my seat next to her in the meeting room. Luna Calliope had said that for today we could use it whilst we were making arrangements. “As ready as I will ever be” she smiled at me, but I could tell how nervous she was feeling. “Look Blaire. If the Luna trusted us with this it’s because she believes we can do it. You have nothing to worry about, I’m here to help you. That’s what best friends are for” I tried to reassure her as I put my arm around her. Blaire smiled at me gratefully as I removed my arm. “Okay so first things first. Now that we have the figures of how many people will be coming to stay, we need to sort out accommodation. Of course we have the guest floor which will take the majority of our guests. I’m thinking we can place a few on the beta floor as well and their alpha and his family can stay in the alpha section of the house. What do you think?” I asked, wanting to make sure I wasn’t completely taking control over the situation. For this to work we would have to give our ideas, but ultimately she would have to approve. “I think that’s a great idea Esme” she beamed, looking relieved that we had a plan in place. “I was thinking myself. We need to make sure we can accommodate them in regards to catering. I’ve spoken with the cooks and they are already aware of the increase. I need to let them know exact numbers now that we have them. Mason and Roman have already made sure there will be enough seating for everyone” she beamed at me proudly. For someone that had no experience, Blaire was really doing well. In reality, she could probably do this by herself she just didn’t believe it yet. “That’s great Blaire. As these guests are so special we should probably see to it ourselves that their rooms are prepared for their arrival tomorrow” I added. I knew the Luna would have done the same thing. “That sounds like a great idea. Mason also mentioned to me that they would probably benefit from training sessions. Apparently they are not the strongest of packs, and are not fully equipped to defend themselves” she noted, scribbling on the notepad she had in front of her. “That’s probably a good idea. We want to make sure they feel part of our community for as long as they are staying with us.” Blaire put her pen down and turned to face me. “If we are to accommodate them for training, we will need to expand our sessions. I was thinking we could have Roman run training sessions as well as Mason so he’s not completely overrun. What do you think?” She asked, seeking my approval. “Whatever you think is best Blaire. You’re the one in charge here, not me. But for what it’s worth I think that’s a great idea. Make a note to speak with Roman about this to see if he’s on board” I smiled, proud at how well she already had this all handled. Blaire returned to her notepad, making note to speak to Roman. Blaire looked up at me, seeming unsure of herself. “Es, I need to ask you something. I don’t want to upset you but it’s been nagging at me and I just have to know” she spoke, her voice trembling. “Of course, whats wrong?” I asked, although I knew this almost certainly had something to do with Mason. “H-has anything ever, you know, happened w- with you and Mason?” She stuttered, clearly struggling to get the words out. I looked at her in shock at her question. It shocked me that she was so insecure about me and Mason when he had chosen her without a second thought when he saw her. “Nothing has happened with me and Mason I promise you” I assured her, not wanting her to think she had any reason to doubt me or Mason. “Blaire. I won’t lie, it hurt when you and Mason met and you were his mate. It wasn’t exactly how I planned my birthday to go, but I know it was for the best. If Mason and I were meant to be we would have been mated, but we’re not” I continued, desperate to make her see that I would never try come in between them. “Do you really mean that?” She asked teary eyed. “Of course I do. If I had thought for one second you were thinking like that, I would have told you that sooner. I was just so lost in my own hurt with the situation, I didn’t even begin to think about how you felt” I admitted, realising how selfish I had been towards my best friend. Blaire pulled me into a hug, smashing my cheek against her shoulder. “I’m sorry too Es, I really never meant to hurt you” she trembled. “You don’t need to apologise. You met your mate, you didn’t do anything wrong” I reassured her before pausing. “Blaire how are you doing with all of this?” I asked, pulling away from her embrace. “Honestly, I’m completely overwhelmed. I felt like I had lost my best friend and on top of that I’m in a completely new place with people that I don’t even know” she confided. “You could never lose me. You’re stuck with me, I promise.” I would never let anything come between us, much less a boy. Yes I had feelings for Mason, but as the days went by I was realising that I didn’t have those feelings for him anymore. Instead all I could think about was Logan. “Es, I haven’t even told my dad about Mason yet” she admitted, looking down at the floor. “You haven’t told him?” I asked, shocked at her revelation. Blaire and her dad were as close as anything, they never kept secrets. “I just can’t bring myself to tell him. As soon as I do, it all becomes real. I don’t want to leave him” she whispered as a tear fell down her cheek. Now it made sense, she didn’t want to hurt her father. “ I know it’s not easy. You need to tell him, sooner than later. The bond you guys have is so strong, imagine how hurt he would be if he knew you were lying to him about something so significant in your life. He will be happy for you!” I insisted, wanting her to see some sense. “I- I don’t know if he will be okay without me. He’s already lost my mum, now he’s going to lose me” she cried, her body shuddering in response. “Blaire he is not going to lose you. You’re going to be here, he can always come visit. And you can always go visit him. You’re not leaving him okay” I tried to reassure her, pulling her in for a hug. I could feel her tears slipping onto my shoulder as she wiped them from her face. “You’re right Es. Thankyou for making me see sense.” She pulled away from my hug to look me dead in the eye. “One more thing” she said. “What’s that?” I asked, worried something would be terribly wrong. “What the hell is going on between you and Logan?”
