By late afternoon, Ian and Aurora returned from college. The air of the mansion felt calm and peaceful, the kind of warmth that only came when the family was home. As they stepped inside, their eyes fell on Asher, who was lounging on the couch in the living room, a script in hand, his brows furrowed in concentration.
The moment he noticed them, however, his face softened instantly, and a bright, genuine smile curved his lips. Asher set the script aside and stood, his tall frame moving with effortless grace. Without hesitation, he walked straight to Aurora, the fondness in his eyes undeniable.
“Welcome back, love” He murmured, and before Aurora could even respond, he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
