Chapter 269

1183 Words

(Author’s POV) It was almost afternoon when Aurora finally decided to put her thoughts into action. The mansion was calm, too calm and she could still hear faint sounds from the living room where the staff went about their chores. Asher was sitting on the couch, flipping through a few old scripts, his expression distant and heavy. Aurora placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. “I’ll be in my room for a while,” She said softly, managing a convincing smile. “I have some college assignments to finish”. “Don’t stress yourself too much. You’ve already got enough on your plate” Asher looked up at her, his eyes tired but warm. She nodded, pretending to be casual, even though her heart was racing. “I’ll be fine” She assured him, brushing her hand against his before stepping out of the room.
