Aurora was the first one who sensed Alexander’s presence. Her laughter stopped, her expression shifting from joy to shock, then something deeper, recognition. Without thinking, she pushed back her chair and ran toward him.
“Papa!” She called out, her voice filled with something so pure it made his heart clench. And before he could say anything, Aurora threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. He also lifted his arms and wrapped them around her.
After a few moments, Aurora pulled back, but she wasn’t done. Her sharp gaze scanned him from head to toe, her brows furrowing with concern.
“Why do you look so tired? Did you even get enough rest? Why didn’t you inform us before going for the trip? Did you eat properly?” She crossed her arms, her scolding tone resembling
