She lost her job

1062 Words
As the cab she boarded drives down the road, many things keep running through her mind, and she can't help getting more nervous as the cab approaches her workplace. Today happens to be a bad day for her, all thanks to her ill fate or luck. "We're here ma'am," Hearing the cabby's voice, she looks out of the window and her heart sinks into her stomach. She feels like disappearing into the air, but not that it's possible anyway. As much as she doesn't want to step out of the car, for the fear of what's awaiting her there, she know that she doesn't have a choice at this point. The cabby needs to drop her off. "Here," Handing his money to him, she finally pushes the door open and steps out of the car, taking a deep breath afterward. Her heart beats rapidly as she stares at the building in front of her. She has many questions running through her mind, and realizing that she just lost clothes that's worth two years of her salary, she can't help the imagination of seeing her doom staring back at her. "Come on, don't just stand there," She urges herself and sighs again, heading to the building afterward. Stepping into the laundry house while holding her breath, she almost jumps out of her skin at the sight that welcomes her. A middle-aged man is standing with her other colleagues and discussing with them. It feels like she should disappear into the ground as she spots the man, her heart beat increases more, sending her a panic attack. "Tracy! Tracy! Come over here," Hearing the whispers of her colleague and best friend, Clara from the corner of the room, she glances over at her, and sighs briefly. Taking another glance at her boss who hasn't noticed her presence yet, she walks over to Clara. "You're finally here. There's a problem, Tracy," Clara sighs briefly, touching her forehead. The look on her face shows how disturb and sad she's feeling at the moment. At this point, Tracy need no one to tell her that she's into trouble. Could it be that the man reported her to their boss? If it was just the late coming that makes everywhere this tensed, how would the reaction of losing his clothes be? "What's going on, Clara?" Although she knows what's likely to be happening, but she still asks anyway. "Mr. Tristan is going to shut down the company if you don't provide his clothes in three hours. He threatened to send our boss to prison for being careless," Clara finally releases the bombshell to her, and her mouth drops open in shock. "Huh?" Her eyes widen in shock as if she knows nothing about what Clara is saying. "You i***t!" The thunderous voice of her boss makes her cringe. For some seconds, her ears feels numb and her heart stops beating momentarily. She's in a deep mess. "Where the hell did you keep Mr. Tristan's clothes?" He snaps at her again, not giving her some time to recover from the first thunderous yell that almost got her ears blocked. "Si... Sir..." "Don't stutter, Tracy. Where are the clothes?" He snaps at her again, and she bites her bottom lip. "I... I..." "Don't tell me that worthless sister of yours stole the cloth for her boyfriend again?" He sneers at her, and she slowly clenches her fists as anger spur through her. "Don't bring my sister into this, Sir. She has nothing to do with it," She mumbles angrily. Even if she dares not talk, she won't fold her arms and watch someone talk bad about her sister. She may have awful attitude, and that doesn't give anyone the right to talk to her in that manner. It's unclear how they found out about her sister's secret, but using it against her now is what she won't take. "I don't care how you're going to sort this out, but you just need to do it. I don't want it to affect my company. Once you step out of here today, never come back here. Never again!" And with that, he turns around and walks away. Her face drops sadly. Wasn't it enough that she was left to pay for clothes worth twenty-three dollars, and now she just lost her job? With her heart bleeding in pain, she slowly turns around and stride out of the building hopelessly, trying all her best not to burst into tears. Walking down the road, many questions runs through her mind as she clenches her fists and keep sighing monetarily. Where the hell is she supposed to start this journey? How's she supposed to cope without a job? Her phone suddenly starts ringing, and she stops to receive the call without bothering to check who the caller is. "Is this miss Tracy Wilson?" A feminine voice sounds from the other end, and she sighs frustratingly, hoping that it's not another call to convey a bad news to her. "Yes," She replies casually, touching her forehead. "You applied for a role in the ongoing project of 'Key To Your Heart' movie industry. The audition is in one hour. All applicants are expect to be present at least twenty minutes before the time," The feminine voice announces to her, and her heart quivers excitedly. This is the news she has been waiting for all her life. It has always been her dream to be popular actress and be famous, and this may be a stepping stone for her. Who knows? "Thank you so much, ma'am. I'll be there in a few minutes," She says on the phone before the call drops. However, her heart sinks into her stomach when she recalls that the man she just lost his clothes moments ago, is said to be the CEO of the industry. What if she bumps into him there? Will he spare her? "Come on, Tracy, not that he'll be there anyway," Her subconscious mind reminds her, and she sighs briefly. Although she heard that he rarely shows up at the location, she still can't help feeling nervous. Should she go to the audition or not? "Come on, this has always been your dream," Her subconscious mind urges her, and she takes a deep breath. "I must go for it," She mumbles, flagging down a cab and hops in...
