ELYNDRA

The car door slammed shut behind us, and before I could even take a breath, he had me sitting on his lap. My knees sank into the leather seat, and he held my hips like he owned me.

I don't need whiskey or absinthe right now. This man was drunk all by himself.

My jacket fell off as I pushed it down my arms and threw it away. He slid his fingers over my bare skin, firm and commanding, and I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my hands in his dark hair.

My heart beat hard. He was so beautiful that it was dangerous.

His teeth brushed against my throat, and his lips dragged down my throat, making me shiver. My hips rolled against the hard length below me, and he held on tighter as a low growl came from his chest.

"s**t," he said softly against my skin, biting down just hard enough to make me gasp.

The car came to a sudden stop. A man in a suit was waiting at the door. I hardly saw him. His mouth was still on me, rough and hot, as he took me out and into an elevator.

The doors slid shut. He pushed me against the mirrored wall and held my wrists high above my head. His mouth found mine again, and his tongue slid deep into my mouth. My moan filled the small space.

He didn't let me catch my breath when the elevator door opened. He pulled me down the hall, kissing me between steps, until we fell into a bedroom.

The cool air barely touched my hot skin. I wanted more and needed more. My fingers dug into his shirt and pulled the buttons apart until it was open. There was ink all over his chest and arms, curling around every firm ridge of muscle.

He kissed me harder and grabbed the back of my neck. He also undid my top with his skilled fingers. His touch was rough and greedy, and I couldn't get enough.

I slowly slid down, pulling on his belt with my hands. As I pulled down his pants, his eyes stayed on mine. When I saw the piercings on the bottom of his c**k, my heart raced. The metal shone in the dim light.

"Have you ever seen a Jacob's ladder?" His voice was low and mocking.

"No." When I wrapped my arms around him, my voice came out breathless.

I leant forward and licked the tip of his head, tasting him. He cursed loudly when I took him all the way into my mouth, and his hand tightened in my hair.

He finally pulled out, stroked himself hard, and let go over my chest. Seeing him undone made my stomach turn. I licked my lips because I wanted more, and his smirk told me he knew it.

He pulled me back up, took off my pants and underwear in one smooth motion, and then dropped to his knees. His mouth was pressed between my legs, and his tongue found my c**t with deadly accuracy. I yelled and pulled his hair while waves of pleasure washed over me.

"Oh—" I gasped, and my head hit the wall.

For a second, everything went dark.

The pain between my thighs told me it wasn't a dream when I woke up. I slowly sat up, holding the sheet, and heard the shower running in the bathroom. My heart was still racing.

I should ask him what his name is. I didn't even know it after all that, Goddess.

The door swung open. He walked out in just pants, with water dripping from his hair and tattoos shining on his wet skin. I caught my breath again.

"Are you just going to look?" He threw the towel away and said in a clipped voice,

"Since you just marked me, I guess I'd like to know who you are." I tried to sound brave, but my voice shook.

"You still don't know?" His cold eyes held me down.

"No." I just know you're an Alpha.

He said, "Soon to be Alpha," in a flat voice that showed how frustrated he was.

I frowned. "Going to be?"

"First, tell me your name."

I thought about it for a moment. "Elyndra. Elyndra Caelora. And you?

His lips turned up, but they weren't warm. "Tharos Draven."

My face turned pale. My breathing stopped, and panic rose.

"What?" I said in a low voice. "Tharos Draven?"

My hands flew to my mouth, and my head was spinning. "Oh goddess... I didn't see it. Dad—Dad is going to go crazy. The same goes for Seliora. Are we both tied to Dravens? What have I—

"Who are you?" His voice was sharp and deadly.

"You... you don't know me?" I felt the mark on my neck with my hand.

"Should I?" His tone was sharp.

I gulped. "Elyndra Caelora." Alaric Caelora's daughter.

His whole body stopped moving. His eyes lit up, his jaw tightened, and then his voice came out low, full of anger.

"Caelora. Sure. I should have known better. "Too perfect to be true."

"What's wrong with—"

"What's wrong?" His laugh was mean. "You're one of them." Entitled Cinderborn bastards who believe the world revolves around them.

"That's not fair—"

"I, Tharos Draven, future Alpha of the Howl Tribe, reject, Elyndra Caelora, as my mate and Luna."

The words cut me in half. My chest hurt like it was on fire, and my mark burned like fire. I screamed and fell to my knees, clawing at my neck as the pain tore me apart.

I could see him turn away through the tears in my eyes. His voice was weak and full of poison.

"I will never accept the daughter of a Caelora."

The room was spinning. My heart broke.

As the darkness closed in, one word kept pounding in my head.
