Take Her Alive

MATED TO MY ALPHA MATE The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the Bloodmoon Pack mansion. The quiet serenity of the night was deceptive, masking the storm brewing just beyond the borders. Inside the mansion, the atmosphere was thick with unease. Warriors moved swiftly through the halls, preparing for the worst. Derek stood in the central hall, barking orders with the authority only an Alpha could wield. "Double the patrols around the mansion!" Derek commanded, his sharp golden eyes scanning the faces of his warriors. "I want every exit covered. If you see a rogue, take them down immediately. No mercy." The warriors nodded and dispersed quickly, their footsteps echoing through the halls. Derek’s jaw tightened as he turned to his Beta, Caleb, who stood at his side. "The rogues are up to something, and I don’t like it. They’re testing us, looking for a weakness. We can’t give them one." Caleb nodded, his expression grim. "Do you think this is about the Luna?" Derek’s gaze darkened. "It has to be. She’s the easiest target, and they know it. If they get to her..." He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t have to. --- In Diva’s Room Diva sat by the window, her eyes fixed on the dark forest beyond. She could feel the tension in the air, the way the mansion hummed with nervous energy. It was suffocating. Her mind raced with conflicting emotions. She hated being locked away, hated Derek for his arrogance and control. But beneath the layers of anger, there was a sliver of fear—fear of what the rogues might do if they got to her. A soft knock at the door pulled her from her thoughts. "Who is it?" she asked cautiously. "It’s Mikael," came the familiar voice. She sighed in relief and opened the door. Mikael stepped inside, his expression as serious as she’d ever seen it. "Diva, I don’t think you understand how serious this is," Mikael said, closing the door behind him. "The rogues aren’t just coming for Derek. They’re coming for you." "I know," she said, her voice quieter than she intended. "But what am I supposed to do? Sit here and wait for them to find me?" Mikael placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Derek has his flaws, but he won’t let anything happen to you. You have to trust him." Diva scoffed. "Trust him? The man who locked me up in this mansion like a prisoner? I’d rather take my chances with the rogues." Mikael frowned. "Don’t say that, Diva. You don’t know what they’re capable of. If they get their hands on you—" A loud explosion shook the mansion, cutting him off mid-sentence. The walls trembled, and the sound of shattering glass filled the air. "What the hell was that?" Diva exclaimed, her heart pounding. Mikael’s eyes widened. "Stay here. Don’t move." --- Outside the Mansion Chaos erupted as flames rose from the eastern border of the territory. The rogues’ diversion had begun, and the warriors were scrambling to contain the fires. Kael watched from a distance, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Perfect. They’re distracted. Let’s move." Liora and a small group of elite rogues moved stealthily through the trees, their movements quick and silent. They reached the mansion’s perimeter with practiced ease, taking out the guards one by one. Inside, Derek was already on high alert. He stormed into the control room, where Caleb was monitoring the situation. "The fires are a distraction," Derek growled. "They’re coming for the mansion. Focus all remaining forces here." Caleb nodded and relayed the orders through the pack’s communication system. --- In the Hallways Diva couldn’t stay put. The explosion had rattled her nerves, and the oppressive silence that followed was unbearable. Against Mikael’s instructions, she slipped out of her room, her footsteps light as she crept down the hallway. The dimly lit corridors felt endless, and every shadow seemed to stretch toward her. She had no plan, no idea where she was going. All she knew was that she couldn’t sit idle while the world burned around her. She turned a corner and froze. A rogue stood at the end of the hallway, his back to her. He was scanning the area, his posture tense. Diva’s breath caught in her throat. She took a step back, but the floorboard creaked under her weight. The rogue’s head snapped around, and their eyes locked. He lunged toward her, but before he could reach her, a blur of motion intercepted him. Derek. With a feral snarl, Derek tackled the rogue to the ground. The fight was brutal and swift, Derek’s superior strength and speed giving him the upper hand. Within moments, the rogue lay lifeless on the floor. Derek turned to Diva, his golden eyes blazing with fury. "What the hell are you doing out here?" "I—" she stammered, her voice trembling. "Get back to your room. Now!" he barked. She flinched but stood her ground. "I’m not going back to that room. I’m not a child, Derek!" "This isn’t about you being a child," he snapped. "It’s about keeping you alive. Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?" Their argument was cut short by another explosion, this one closer than the first. The walls shook, and the lights flickered. Derek grabbed her arm, his grip firm but not painful. "You’re coming with me. Now." --- The Rogue Camp Kael watched the chaos unfold with satisfaction. His plan was working perfectly. "The guards are down," Liora reported, her voice tinged with triumph. "We have a clear path to the Luna." Kael nodded. "Good. Take her alive. Derek will fall to his knees when he sees what we’ve done." --- Back in the Mansion Derek led Diva through the maze-like hallways, his senses on high alert. Every sound, every movement, put him on edge. "Where are we going?" Diva asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Somewhere safe," he replied curtly. They reached a hidden passageway behind a bookshelf, and Derek pushed it open. The narrow tunnel was dark and cold, but it was secure. "Stay here," Derek said, his tone leaving no room for argument. Diva opened her mouth to protest, but the look in his eyes stopped her. "Be careful," she said softly. He nodded and disappeared into the darkness, leaving her alone in the silence. --- In the Forest Kael and his team approached the mansion, their movements swift and calculated. The final phase of their plan was about to unfold, and nothing would stand in their way. --- To be continued............
