The Dagger ⚔️🗡️

MATED TO MY ALPHA MATE The silence in the hidden passage was suffocating. Diva sat on the cold stone floor, her knees pulled to her chest. Her heart raced as she replayed the events of the last hour in her mind—Derek's furious commands, the rogue's attack, and the explosions that shook the mansion. The dim light from a single flickering torch on the wall cast eerie shadows that danced around her. She felt a chill run down her spine, though she wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or the fear gripping her heart. Her thoughts were interrupted by a low growl that echoed through the passage. She froze, her ears straining to catch any sound. Was it Derek? Or was it one of the rogues? The growl came again, closer this time. She scrambled to her feet, her back pressed against the wall. Her eyes darted toward the darkness ahead, and her breath caught when a figure emerged. It wasn’t Derek. --- Meanwhile, Outside the Mansion The rogue attack was escalating. The fires had spread, illuminating the night sky with an ominous orange glow. Warriors fought fiercely, their howls and growls echoing through the forest as they clashed with the invaders. Derek was in the thick of it, his claws tearing through the rogues with brutal efficiency. Blood splattered his face, but he didn’t falter. His pack needed him. Diva needed him. "Caleb!" Derek shouted as his Beta fought off two rogues simultaneously. "Get more warriors to the southern perimeter. They’re trying to break through!" Caleb nodded, his movements swift as he relayed the order. Derek’s mind raced. This attack wasn’t random—it was calculated. The rogues had inside information, and their target was clear: Diva. --- In the Hidden Passage The figure stepped into the dim light, revealing a rogue with a wicked grin. His eyes glinted with malice as he took a step toward Diva. "Well, well," the rogue sneered. "The infamous Luna. What a pleasure to meet you." Diva's heart pounded as she backed away. "Stay back," she warned, her voice trembling but firm. The rogue chuckled. "And what are you going to do? Scream? No one will hear you down here." She glanced around, searching for anything she could use as a weapon. Her eyes landed on the torch on the wall. The rogue lunged at her, but she grabbed the torch and swung it with all her strength. The flame hit his face, and he howled in pain, clutching his burned skin. Diva didn’t waste a second. She turned and ran deeper into the passage, the flickering light casting eerie shadows on the walls. --- Back at the Mansion Grounds Kael watched the battle from a safe distance, his expression calm and calculating. He wasn’t here to fight—he was here to ensure the plan went off without a hitch. Liora approached him, her face streaked with blood. "The mansion is heavily guarded," she reported. "We’ve taken down some of their warriors, but their numbers are overwhelming." Kael smirked. "Good. Let them focus on the mansion. Our target is already within reach." He signaled to a small group of elite rogues. "Move into the hidden passage. She won’t get far." --- In the Passage Diva’s breath came in ragged gasps as she ran, the sounds of the rogue’s pursuit echoing behind her. Her legs burned, but she pushed herself forward, determined to escape. She rounded a corner and stumbled upon a door. It was old and wooden, with strange carvings etched into its surface. She hesitated for a moment before pushing it open. The room beyond was small and filled with a strange, glowing light. A pedestal stood in the center, holding an ornate dagger that seemed to pulse with energy. Diva approached it cautiously, her eyes drawn to the weapon. It felt... alive, as if it was calling to her. The rogue burst into the room, his face twisted with rage. "There’s nowhere to run now, little Luna." Diva grabbed the dagger without thinking. A surge of energy shot through her, and she gasped as a strange warmth spread through her body. The rogue lunged at her, but this time she didn’t back down. She raised the dagger, and with a strength she didn’t know she possessed, plunged it into his chest. The rogue let out a strangled cry before collapsing to the ground, lifeless. Diva stared at the dagger in her hand, her chest heaving. "What... what is this?" --- Outside Derek felt a sudden surge of power ripple through the air. He paused mid-battle, his eyes narrowing as he tried to pinpoint its source. "Caleb," he called, his voice urgent. "Did you feel that?" Caleb nodded, his expression grim. "It came from the hidden passage." Derek’s blood ran cold. "Diva." Without another word, he shifted into his wolf form and bolted toward the mansion, his powerful legs propelling him forward at an incredible speed. --- Back in the Passage Kael and his elite team arrived at the room, their eyes widening when they saw Diva standing over the rogue’s body, the glowing dagger in her hand. Kael’s expression darkened. "Interesting," he murmured. "I didn’t think the Luna had it in her." Diva turned to face him, her grip on the dagger tightening. "Stay back," she warned, her voice steadier than she felt. Kael chuckled. "Oh, little Luna, you’ve just made things much more entertaining." Before she could react, Kael lunged at her with blinding speed. Diva raised the dagger, but he swatted it out of her hand effortlessly. "You’re coming with me," he growled, grabbing her arm. "Let her go." Kael froze, his head snapping toward the doorway. Derek stood there, his golden eyes blazing with fury. The two men stared each other down, the tension in the room thick enough to cut with a knife. "This isn’t over," Kael said with a smirk before vanishing into the shadows with his team. Derek rushed to Diva’s side, his hands gripping her shoulders as he looked her over. "Are you hurt?" She shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I’m fine... but Derek, that dagger—" "We’ll talk about it later," he said firmly, pulling her into his arms. "Right now, I need to get you somewhere safe." As he led her out of the passage, Diva couldn’t shake the feeling that her life had just taken another dangerous turn—and that the dagger was only the beginning. To be continued............
