I pretend I didn’t hear a thing and keep chatting with Mami and Dyma. A few minutes later, we finally hang up. I can’t help but think about Bassey’s voice, about the fact that no one knows we’re talking right now—I just hope they don’t see anything wrong with it. But then again, what’s wrong with it? I don’t see it that way; on the contrary, they must be happy. Honestly, I really don’t know what to think.

I get a message from Bassey: So, sweetie? How’s your evening going?

-It’s going well, and you? I think I’m going to sleep soon. I heard your voice, by the way!

He really annoyed me, so I put down my phone and grabbed my laptop, where I put on a movie while I wait to fall asleep. The movie is cool, but I didn’t even last thirty minutes, I fell asleep right away. Tomorrow is another day!
