THE ALPHA'S VESSEL

1170 Words
The Alpha's threat sent bile up my throat. He squeezed the air pipes by the side of my neck, strangling me to snap my bone. I panicked, shaking under his grip, begging for my life. "Please let me live. " I will fulfill my purpose to you until the day I die and will forever be your vessel." I managed to say and earned my freedom from his grip. He pushed me to the ground and moved away from where I fell. I held my neck, coughing, and struggled to steady my breath. Everywhere was still dark, like the pit of hell. There is no doubt that he must be the prince of hell, judging from the kind of place he was living in. I guess I will never see daylight again because of my new purpose as his vessel. "Do you know what it is to be a vessel?" he asked in a terrifying voice. "No." "A worthless slave without a wolf. You can't even be classified as an omega. Yet you were chosen to be a vessel to contain a curse." _A curse?_ Was I sanctified by carrying a curse? Can my life get any worse? "Do you know what that means?" He breezed past me. I shook my head in response even though I knew it was unreasonable to do so since the room was dark. I could barely make out his figure and could sense only his intimidating presence. "You will absorb the darkness of the Alpha. " An evil that tears other werewolves into halves turns them crazy and sucks out their souls. " You will be the hundredth vessel to fill the void. " And it is obvious that you will not last," he growled. "If I may ask, why is everywhere dark?" I managed to ask even though I was scared as hell. He chuckled, roaming around me in circles. "An embodiment of darkness can't welcome light. That is what you will bear once I transfer the curse to you." "What if I heal you from the curse? A little light can cast shadows in a corner." "You are just a slave, what can you do?" I had no idea what I was saying or even a solution to it. But the darkness was too much for me to bear. There was no trace of light, everything was pitch black, and it made it difficult for me to think without feeling endangered. I inhaled the suffocating air and decided to try my luck. "You said that I was chosen as your vessel. I am not too sure of what I can do or what it means to be your vessel. But if you are willing to let me help, then I will do my best to serve in exchange for you to spare my life." This was me gambling with my life. If I succeed, I might be able to manipulate my way out of this hellish pack and return to my family. "Give me two reasons why I should listen to you and not take your life." "If I am the chosen one, then there must be other reasons behind it. As you know, I am a powerless slave without a wolf. If I can awaken my wolf, maybe I will be able to help you cure your curse. That is if you are willing to help me." "And if you fail?" "I died by your hands," I said, sealing my fate. "Very well," he muttered and snapped his fingers together, illuminating the room a little with a dull yellow candle. I could barely see him since the part he had lighted was just the spot I stood on. "Is that it? Just this amount of light? If I may ask, are you afraid?" "Silence!" He growled, startling the hell out of me. "Just because I let you speak does not mean you can utter any word you desire. I won't hesitate to send your life if you irk me again." "Forgive me, Alpha. " It will not repeat itself again." I apologized, dropping my head down. "Run." "What?" "If I catch you, you are dead. " So run," he ordered. I didn't understand what he meant and didn't know where to run to. Nevertheless, I took to my heels, dashing to the nearest door I could find. I barged into the room, slamming the door shut. My heart raced uncontrollably as I shook in fear. "Run, not hide, slave," he muttered behind me. Terror took over my entire body as his hand wrapped around my neck. "You can't do this. " Give me another chance," I lamented. "Nothing is ever fair in this world, slave. You had a chance to escape just like you heard planned in your head." _How did he know that? Can he read my mind?_ "Now listen carefully. From now on, you are not allowed to leave this room unless I say so. You are not allowed to come in contact with anyone. You will not question my decisions, you will follow every rule I make, and you will serve me on any occasion I desire, whether good or bad. Understood?" I shook my head in response, and he tightened his grip on my neck. "Say it." "Yes, Alpha" I responded according to his wish. "Now, tell me, how many times have you bred?" he asked. His question was unexpected, and it confused me that he would bring it up. "None. I haven't bred with any werewolves since I haven't awakened my wolf." "And your masters, did any of them touch you?" "No." I breathed out, unsure of what I was feeling at the moment. I couldn't differentiate whether it was fear or not. After a long pause, he let go of my neck and walked away from me. "Give me your hand," he ordered. I didn't hesitate to extend my hand to him quickly. He grabbed it and stabbed a dagger into my arm. "Shush. Don't scream." I muffled the sound of the pain I felt while watching my blood run down my arm. He chuckled, then took his lips to my bleeding arm and drank my blood. I was stunned by his action and grew weary as he continued. After a few minutes, he looked at me, and it was the first time I saw his face, especially his red-shot eyes. "You are a vampire." "A tribrid, slave." He corrected. An alpha with a vampiric nature. He is truly the devil's heir. "No one knows about this, am I correct?" I asked, feeling a strange kind of comfort. "Not many. Now, do you understand why your life belongs to me?" "Yes, I understand. To serve you on all occasions." If this was my fate, then there was no use hoping to be alive for a long time. He continued to drink my blood until I couldn't feel my legs anymore. "From now on, you are mine," he declared, biting down harder with his elongated fangs.
