UNEXPECTED TRUCE

1457 Words
She talks a lot, especially to someone whose blood I had drained half. Her voice keeps whispering things nonstop. She doesn't know that I hear every single thought of her. I can't count the number of times she has labeled me as the devil's heir since her arrival in my room. Even though she called me such a name, I was glad that she feared me. Every single living being on earth should be afraid of me, worship me, and die by my hands. It was the only way for them to survive under my reign. _What kind of awful Alpha would lock himself in a dark room?_ _Here needs some light._ _Forget it. He is bound to darkness forever. It's a pity that he would never understand what it feels like to be surrounded by light_ These were her thoughts and every single one of them irked me. If not for her purpose as my vessel, I would have killed her instantly. But that would cause me eternal years full of agony. I was cursed with darkness that brought nothing but pain due to a prophecy proclaimed on the day I was born. And the only way to end this ridiculous curse was to fill my darkness into a weak human vessel. The slave girl was chosen to contain the evil inside me and once she absorbs the darkness, she will be slaughtered and sacrificed to the moon goddess. My eyes flickered to her side, watching every slow movement she made without sight. She crawled on her fours, feeling the air for an obstacle. It was thrilling to see her do as she pleased, knowing well that I could kill her at any time. _I can't see a thing._ _I hope he doesn't kill me if I do this._ She crawls forward and stops at an end corner. I got up from where I sat and decided to end her adventurous delight. But when I halt in front of her, she drags down a fabric and fills the room with sunlight. I stumbled back to a dark corner, shocked by her audacity and troubled by being burned by the sun. Her eyes strayed over to my side and for the first time, I saw how blue her eyes were. They were dead blue with a little sparkle which must have been caused by the sunlight she had released into my room. "Are you out of your mind?!" I gritted my teeth, promising to kill her once the darkness was restored. She silently strode towards me, her eyes fixed with awe as if she had seen a present. When she stops in front of me, she does the worst thing that aggravates my anger. Touching my face with her filthy hands. I was definitely going to kill her after this, but she mutters a word that strikes my chest. "Beautiful." For a moment, I felt my heart skip a bit. My f*****g dead heart skipped. "Do you have a death wish?" "I have been assigned to death since the day I was born. " If I am going to live with you till the day I die, then I have to get used to you." She muttered, trailing her index finger on my nose. "Are you not afraid of me?" "I am. But I am using all the courage I have to do this. " After all, you own my life," she said with a dead gaze. Her words surprised me, especially the part where she said I owned her life. This slave girl accepted her fate without questioning it. As expected of a lowlife Omega. "Alpha, don't you think it is beautiful?" _What exactly is wrong with this slave girl? How can she ask such a ridiculous question without her? She made my heart skip again just by staring into my eyes with her ocean-blue eyes. I must be sick to feel this stupid, incomprehensible emotion toward her. My death must be near. "Your room, isn't it beautiful with the light?" She questioned, and I realized that she was referring to the room and not me. I narrowed my eyes at her, irked by her stupid question, yet I couldn't deny the truth in her words. For the first time in years, I could see the difference in my room with the light in it. "Let's make a truce. During the day, I let the light in, and at night, you take charge as you wish. I will remain on your vessel for both hours. This way, I can serve my purpose to you quickly and disappear from your life just as I came." "Very well, you have my word," I agreed. "If I may ask," Does the sun affect you?" "That question is irrelevant," I growled, narrowing my eyes at her. "I mean no harm and just trying to help you." "Help me? " I don't need your help, all you have to do is absorb my curse and nothing more. " Just because I gave you the chance to have a truce between us does not mean I cannot fasten your death. " If you want to survive under me, try not to stick your nose where it doesn't belong," I warned her, then stepped into the light. As much as I hated the sun, it couldn't burn me to death like a regular vampire. My Werewolf side played a big role in this and made it possible for me to walk around without anyone suspecting my vampiric side during the day. "Forgive me if I have offended you with my words. " It will not repeat itself again," she muttered, her head staring down at the floor. She retreated to a corner and sat by the wall, eyes wandering around the room except me. It was better this way, for her to know the danger she was faced with if she tried to cross me. "Remember, you are never to leave this room unless I say so." With this said, I left my room, taking the form of my original identity as the devil alpha of the winter-fall pack. I walked into the elevator and went down to meet my cabinet members. My Beta, Vok bowed as I strode into the meeting chamber. "The Alpha has arrived. Rise and pay your respect," Vok announced. The elders arose from their chairs and bowed respectfully even though some of them were against my ruling. Each of them was cunny in different ways and never to be trusted. "You may take your seats. And keep the meeting brief," I instructed. "Alpha, we have decided amongst ourselves that if you don't find a mate at the mating ceremony tomorrow, we will select a capable Luna to stay by your side, "Abram, the head of the council stated. I chuckled knowing what they had planned. Abram Miller was my enemy. If not for my father's dying wish to keep him as the head of the pack's council, I would have killed him long ago. A greedy old fart with a worthless ambition for my position as the pack leader. "That shouldn't be any of your business. My Luna will come to me just as the prophecy says. I know what you want, Abram. Do you think throwing your daughter at me would give you the chance to overthrow me? " This is my last warning. If any of you bring up the matter of finding a Luna for me, I will not hesitate to end that person's household." I declared with an authoritative voice. Dominating them with my dark aura until they cowered back in fear. They knew better than anyone not to go against my order. Being merciless was my talent, and I never hesitated to use it in defiance. "Is there anyone who wishes to speak should come forward." I broke the silence after a few minutes. "Greetings, alpha. It is I, Madam Lafayette. The celestial servant of the moon goddess." I looked towards her position, acknowledging her presence. Madam Lafayette was an old woman that has been serving the Alpha family in winter and fall for generations. It was unreasonable not to listen to her message especially those from the moon goddess directly. "What do you have for me, Madam Lafayette?" "I come with good news, alpha. On the night of the mating ceremony, during the hour of the golden moon under the oak tree of life, you shall meet your Luna. She shall come in a luminous glow and only you shall meet her. If you fail to find her at the right hour, you will lose your alpha powers and die after three days. This is the message of the Moon goddess.”
