Julian’s POV The auction had already reached its halfway point. The stage was buzzing with excitement, but none of it reached me. Our family sat in the VIP section; the lights were dazzling, yet they couldn’t brighten the gloomy tension at our table. I watched Father, Nathaniel, grow darker and darker in expression. He lowered his voice and cursed, “The auction has been going on for so long—why the hell isn’t that brat Aria here yet?” Mother was just as anxious. “Nathaniel, do you have Aria’s number?
