Aya held Gavin’s face and kissed him. “You need to rest babe. Don’t worry about me.” She whispered to him while lovingly caressing his face.
It took Gavin by surprise. He had to ask her again. “But, I want to make you feel good too. Are you sure?”
“That would be for another day. You should savor how you felt today. The next one will be more special. Besides, didn’t we agree to take it slow?” Aya chuckled, thinking she was the one who stepped out of their agreement by asking Gavin earlier to do it with her.
“If that’s what you want, babe.” Gavin hugged Aya and sniffed her scent. “I will be moving out tomorrow, I will miss you my Aya.” Gavin said in his cheesy line.

Gavin woke up early and prepared breakfast for them. This is the type of morning he would miss, waking up next to Aya and spending the day with her. But Gavin knows that if he wants to be in a better financial situation faster than working like this will not cut it. He needs to prove to Don that he can be the one for Aya.
He cleaned up and opened the store. Aya must have been tired last night she overslept. Gavin was busy fixing restocking the shelves, and he heard someone enter the store. He quickly stood up to welcome their customer.
“Why are you still here?” Don’s voice vibrated in the store.
“Hey, don’t worry, I will move out today. I am just helping Aya this morning, she’s still sleeping.” Gavin assured Don that he will not suck up to everything Aya have. He is not interested in the material things Aya has, just her nothing else.
“I don’t think you got my message right last night Gavin.” Don slammed his hand on the counter. His anger transcends his words.
“I do, I understand. I respect you as the brother of the woman I love. In fact, I agree with you. Aya deserves so much better. That’s why I am moving out today. I will also look for other jobs so I can save faster, and be able to provide a good life for Aya.” Gavin said with hope in his eyes.
“Heh, that is pathetic. You clearly know nothing about us. How can you say you love somebody you don’t know?” Don sneered at Gavin. "You will die working and will never be able to provide whatever Aya has today." He belittled Gavin once more.
“That’s why I am here. I want to get to know her more and the people she loves.” Gavin was stubborn. He wanted to fight for his relationship with Aya. "What you said might be true, but I don't think Aya even cares about money. She just need a decent man to love her, care for her and respect her."
“You are a clueless i***t, Gavin. If you don’t stay away from Aya, I will throw you out of Hudson and tell Danny about you.” Don’s final words struck Gavin hard. “This is not a warning or a threat, Gavin, this is an order. Stay out of my sister’s life or you know what Danny can do to you.” Don stormed out of the store.
Gavin exhaled heavily. “what can a worthless person like me do?” He smacked his head with his hand. He understands that if he defies Don, there are only two options left for him; to die here if he stays with Aya or to move out of Hudson. Either way, he will not be able to be with Aya anymore, not even see her.
It left Gavin disgruntled. Just when he thought he settled his relationship with Aya, it again comes crumbling down. He never felt this way before towards anyone and now Don was forcing him to give up on her.
“Good morning, handsome.” Aya exited the backroom towards the store. She instantly knew that something was wrong when she saw the look on Gavin’s face. “I heard some noise when I was in the shower. What was that?” She asked Gavin as she walked towards him for a morning kiss.
“Hmm, nothing babe. It's just a drunk customer.” Gavin said as an excuse.
“That’s weird. Who in Hudson would get drunk this early?” It confused Aya. She went behind the counter as she wore her work vest.
Gavin faced Aya, thinking how he could end their relationship now. “Oh, I saw the food you prepared. Should we eat first?” Aya asked Gavin. She has a bad hunch about his gesture, and she does not want it to happen just yet. Aya is trying to buy time before Gavin gives her his bad news.
Gavin nodded and gave Aya a faint smile. “Sure, I will bring the food in here.” He said and pivoted towards the back room.
“Wait, babe. Let’s just go inside and eat there.” Aya said to Gavin. Aya can feel the inevitable sorrow that is about to dawn on her. She’s seen this scenario one too many times. She has been dumped more than she can count. Aya just did not expect Gavin to dump her too fast, she did not anticipate the day would be this soon.
Gavin was quiet as they walked inside Aya’s house. That eerie silence Aya hates. Gavin pulled out the chair for Aya. He also served Aya her food. This is unusual for Aya, because she can see in Gavin’s eyes the same affection she saw in him the past month that they’ve been together; most especially last night.
Gavin was still quiet while they were eating. She thought Gavin was different, but here she is at the same situation she was many times before. “Have I done anything wrong?” Aya dropped her fork as she asked Gavin.
“What? No.” Gavin answered briefly.
Aya took a deep breath. It seems like Gavin is not willing to give her much explanation or even an excuse.
“It’s not you Aya.” Gavin finally started talking.
“Oh my God, Gavin. Please cut that bull shi** don’t use that cliché line on me.” Aya heard that lame excuse a more than she anyone in her lifetime. “I need something more than that Gavin.” Urging Gavin to spill it out once and for all.
“Aya, I’m sorry.” Gavin is determined not to tell Aya about Don’s threat.
“Was last night not enough for you?” She asked Gavin straightforwardly.
“No, babe, it’s not that.” Gavin does not want Aya to go low for him.
“Then, what is it? Do you want to have s*x? I can go all the way for you, Gavin.” She blurted out in frustration. Aya stood up and kissed Gavin on the lips, but this time it was desperately begging for Gavin not passionate. Gavin could taste Aya’s tears as he accepted her kisses.
She sat on his lap facing him as they kissed; she is ready to give it all to Gavin, just to keep him. Aya started unbuckling Gavin’s pants, but Gavin’s next move put out the fire in her eyes.
He held her hands to stop her. “No, Aya. Please stop. I can’t let you beg for me like this. It’s not like you. You don’t deserve this.” He muttered.
“What the hell do you want?” Aya embraced Gavin as she cried. “I will do whatever you want, Gavin.” Her tone was serious. She is really ready to give everything up. Only for him.
“I want to be better for you, Aya.” Gavin said as he cupped her face. “My feelings for you have not changed. I still like you. In fact, I like you a lot that I want to be deserving of you.” Gavin tried to explain his side.
“Why can’t we be together while you are trying to better yourself? Let’s get better together then.” Aya is still trying to negotiate with Gavin.
“I will still go and check on you. I also promise you that I will not pursue any other woman.” Gavin assured Aya.
Aya stood up and moved away from Gavin. “I don’t need your pathetic excuses, Gavin. Leave now and don’t ever show your face to me ever again.” Aya shouted at Gavin.
Gavin understands Aya’s predicament. He stood up and took off his work vest. He tried to reach for Aya’s hand, but she refused. With his spirit fully deflated, he left Aya as a coward who chose not to fight.
