Where Are You?

1360 Words
“Tomorrow?” Gavin sat up, trying to confirm it if he heard her right. “Yes, tomorrow. After your work and my work, let’s head out. No need to bring anything more than basic documents. Dobbie will send our stuff via courier for some other time.” Aya wanted to make it seem like there was nothing more than to her request. She had to hide the fear in her voice with a faint smile. Gavin hugged Aya. “You think, I still don’t know you that well?” He took a deep sigh as he waited for Aya’s response, but she kept mum. “You don’t need to hide your problem with me, baby. I know that something is bothering you.” He took Aya’s hand and placed it on top of his chest. “Try me, I will listen. You can trust me, baby. You know that.” He said in his husky voice. Aya felt like a heavy burden on her shoulders was lifted. “I’m sorry, baby. I just did not know how to explain the situation to you.” Her eyes glistened with tears. Gavin kissed her forehead, encouraging her to continue. The warmth in Gavin’s embrace was more than enough for Aya to feel assured that he will not judge her decision. “Next week, your safety treaty inside Hudson will expire. Basically Julian can pull you out of here without the state interfering.” She started her explanation. Gavin nodded. He was not even aware there was such an expiration of that protection inside Hudson. But he did not want to appear weary in front of Aya. He kept his cool and continued listening to Aya. “The thing is Danny warned Julian not to touch you. So he had a workaround he got another group set to eliminate you as soon as your treaty here expires.” Aya added. Gavin cupped his chin. “Oh, that shi*head is somewhat smart. I have to commend his resourcefulness just to kill me.” He chuckled. Aya pinched his side, since she does not find it funny how some unbelievably rude human being could just decide that one person should be eliminated based on their liking. “That bird brain Gerard gave me an idea how we can escape Julian.” Aya added. Gavin’s eyes drew in closer. “Oh that mother fu*ker, approached you again?” He asked Aya. She just nodded, feeling guilty for hiding it from Gavin. “He actually blackmailed me. He said he will let you escape Hudson safely in exchange; I will marry him.” Aya admitted it to Gavin. She saw how Gavin’s jaw gritted in anger. “This is the main reason why I did not tell you about it. I know how unacceptable their actions are, that you might lose your cool and beat him up again. If you do that, then you will be tagged as the aggressor. He could jail you with little sweat.” Aya wanted to calm down Gavin. “You see, if Julian cannot harm you outside Hudson without facing consequences, well, with the exemption of their territory; Bradford. That’s why I want us to move to Victoria. You will be safer there. We don’t need Gerard’s help to get out of Hudson. We only need to escape quietly.” Aya’s plan made sense to Gavin. Although it felt like a sucker punch to his ego, that his woman was actually the one trying to protect him. He would gladly take it, it would only mean that he needs to step up his game so he would be capable to protect himself and most importantly; Aya. Gavin knows he is far from that goal but it is worth a try if he is doing it for Aya. “Okay, baby. I will pick you up from your work tomorrow. I will borrow Steven’s big bike again.” Gavin agreed to her plan to leave Hudson in secret. “Just pack your documents with you so we don’t raise the alarm. I will tell Don about it so he can call our people in Victoria to pick us up on the border.” They concocted their plan in full detail. “If we stay in Victoria, will you be finally introducing me to you father?” Gavin tried his luck; perhaps Aya would be courageous enough to introduce him to her family before they get married. Aya did not immediately answer Gavin; she is still half hearted if she can actually face her father. Gavin understood Aya’s silence. He kissed her lips gently. “It’s okay, don’t rush. But I would just like you to know that I intend to ask your father for your hand in marriage. I want them to know that you are in good hands with me.” Gavin added. Aya wept again after hearing Gavin’s intentions. “I don’t know who my real family is.” Gavin is the first person to know about her actual family situation. “I haven’t met my biological family. I am not a real heir in distress. I am just a homeless cat looking for a loving home.” Her voice cracked when she said her piece. Gavin kissed her lips again, passionately this time. “I am your family. I am your fiancé and we can figure things out, together.” He wants to establish his claim in Aya’s life. Aya responded to him with a kiss. She could not explain how Gavin’s kiss just melts her sorrows and uncertainties away. Once again, they made love like nobody was watching. They united as one, more than their bodies, but their dreams and souls. They went at it like they are savoring their youth since they really don't have anything to lose right now except themselves if they don't give their all for each other. The flickering light of the scented candle and essences she lit earlier made their scene more intimate. Aya's tired body slumped against Gavin's masculine body. And just like that, once again, Aya's heart could break with joy. She gets chills just thinking about it.  The next day, the two went on with their plan. They went about their day normally, not wanting to send a slightest clue about their plan. Gavin took did not even take a bag with him. All he brought with him is his wallet and card inside his jacket's pocket. His cellphone was in his back pocket. He looked at his self on the mirror. He clipped a note for Steven. Gavin plans on texting him as soon as they arrive in Victoria. Steven thought that this trip of Aya and Gavin was one of those short trips they took. Gavin could not explain his heart, but it was going crazy at the moment. He could only hope that his instinct was wrong. Gavin rode the touring bike with a heavy heart. He went directly to Aya's store to pick her up. He stepped down from the bike and went inside the store. He finds it weird that her back room door was left open. Her apprentice and part timer were also not there."Baby? Aya?" Gavin shouted for her name. He looked around the store but she was not there.. Gavin's heart is bleeding at the moment. He felt desperately looking for Aya. When he opened the bathroom, he saw a familiar person bounded with rope on his foot and hand. A gray duct tape covered his mouth. Gavin hurriedly freed the man. It was Aya's guard.  "The missy, she was taken away by her crazy ex." He declared to him as soon as he removed the tape over his mouth. "We got to go and hurry up." He insisted to Gavin.  Gavin cracked his knuckles and clenched his jaw tightly. He is in attack mode. He will destroy anything on his path who would dare hurt his woman.  "Vrooooom" Gavin sped off and used the big bike to roam around, trying to look for Aya. "Hang on tight, baby. I am coming to save you." He muttered under his breath.
