Gavin heard it all... Every sharp word Aya dropped. His face turned red in shame. His assumption of their relationship was wrong. Gavin had no words for the pain he felt. He turned around and left with a heavy heart.
“Oh, sh*t!” Aya exclaimed when she realized Gavin heard her ego boosting speech. “Did you plan this?” Aya turned her attention to Lucia. She might have set this stage for her to embarrass herself in front of Gavin.
Lucia rubbed her forehead for the blunder of the supposed happy ending set up she made before she leaves. “Yes, I planned this. I wanted you to get back together before I left.” She looked at her watch and she would barely make it in time to the airport.
“What do you mean?” Aya confronted Lucia. Not completely understanding Lucia’s plan.
“I mean, I regret having a crush on you and shipping you with my boy, Gavin! Don’t bother him again, he does not deserve a bit*h like you.” Aya’s actions clearly frustrated Lucia. “I’m out of here! If only I had enough time, I would slap you with the truth!” She said before she left the store.
Aya was dumbfounded. "Lucia has a crush on me? Not with Gavin?" She pointed to herself in disbelief. "How can I say such things? But I wanted him out of my life in the first place. Why am I feeling bad that Gavin heard every harsh word I said?" She could not figure out herself all the more. She smacked her head for her slip-up. “I fuc*ing deserve this!” she said repeatedly.

Gavin went back to his shop with his mind still in shambles and his heart shattered. He honestly thought he still had a chance with Aya. He thought their relationship was true, but how can he argue when all that happened with them was skin deep.
A few minutes later, Steven knocked on the office door. “Hey bro!” Steven called out to Gavin. He instantly knew Gavin’s grim mood was Aya related. “You look like a mess. We need to talk over that with a few bottles. What do you think?” Steven asked Gavin.
Gavin readily agreed with Steven’s offer. He could use a drink right now. Gavin feels so down; he thinks that drowning in alcohol is the best way to forget. After a few drinks in, Steven spills what he knows. “Bro, I don’t mean to interfere with your affairs but; Aya still loves you. Whatever she said or did it was all for show.” Steven did not mind mincing his words.
“I don’t know about that bro, but what I heard from her was direct. I was just one of his boys.” Gavin confronted Steven.
Steven giggled. “You obviously don’t know a thing, bro. You know it makes me feel intrigued. How can two people say they love each other when they barely know each other?” Steven’s unsolicited advice hit hard to Gavin.
He kept mum, thinking it over. Steven tapped his shoulder.
“Aya is not the type of woman. The reason why she had so many exes is that everyone tried getting in her pants and she rejected their advances. Also, there is something deeper that went on in her life and it’s not for me to say.” Steven went into more details.
Steven’s revelation confused Gavin more. “She rejected their advances; but she offered herself to me?” Gavin was mind blown. He could only keep that thought to himself. “How could it be? A nobody like me? Are you sure she said she loves me?” Gavin finally had something to ask Steven.
Steven chug his beer. “Pretty much, dude. She was wasted and crying about how you dumped her. I think it devastated her, that’s why she said harsh words about you. You know to save some face.” He explained it very well to Gavin. He finally understood. He plans on getting back to Aya’s store the next day to try it one last time.
“Thanks, bro. If not for enlightening me, I would have sulked in the room’s corner for the rest of the night.” Gavin raised his bottle for Steven, he did the same.
“No, problem bro. I need your logical mind for our opening.” Steven joked to Gavin.
Gavin nodded, taking on the challenge of Steven.
The next day, Gavin woke up with a smile on his face. He was in such a good mood that he was whistling a tune while taking a shower. Gavin wanted to look his best for Aya. He wore black pants and chose the most formal piece of clothing he have; a plain dark blue long sleeves button-down shirt. He fixed his hair well he even used a hair wax to tame it.
Before going to Aya’s store, he went to a flower shop to buy flowers for Aya. He spent quite some time thinking of what type of flower he should choose.
“Do you need help?” The florist asked Gavin.
“Yeah, a bit. I don’t know her favorite flower.” Gavin admitted.
The old man smiled before he spoke. “Why don’t you write the note first, then I will tell you the perfect flower to convey your message.”
Gavin was all for it. He quickly took the pen and wrote down his message for Aya. “Baby, I am sorry. Even if what we have is not official. I want you to know that what I feel for you is real.–Yours forever; Gavin.”
He shamelessly handed it to the florist. He blushed when he read Gavin’s note. It alarmed Gavin, “Why? Is it too bad? It is my first time to write such a note.” He tried to defend himself when he saw the florist’s reaction.
“No, not at all, son. In fact, it is beautiful. You know most of the times, apology notes like this are more sincere than generic I love you notes.” He chuckled as he prepared a flower box for Gavin. “This is a Blue Ivy. This flower symbolizes fidelity and pure intentions.”
The florist’s explanation satisfied Gavin. He gathered his courage to go down the block to finally talk to Aya again and explain everything to her. But a few meters away he saw that familiar car; Gerard.
Gavin rushed, and he was correct. It was his nemesis. Gavin confidently walked in and placed the flower box he bought on the counter. It surprised Aya she was not sure how to react.
Gavin was quick to acknowledge that Aya needs his help. He grabbed Aya by the hips and kissed her. His actions stunned Aya she did not even have enough time to stop Gavin from kissing her. She covered her mouth in shock.
“What are you doing here?" He sneered at Gerard. Then he faced Aya again and asked her, "Is this as*hole bothering you again, babe?”
Suddenly Aya got a grip on herself. She pushed Gavin away from herself. “Stop it both of you!” She exclaimed.
Gavin did not expect Aya’s reaction. He just wanted to save her from Gerard like they earlier planned. “Babe?” Gavin wanted to protest.
“Don’t call me babe. We broke up already!” She threw out Gavin and Gerard outside her store. Aya blew out her cheek as she successfully pushed the two guys outside.
Aya went back to her counter and saw the flower box brought in by Gavin. “Should I throw these out?” She is still fighting with her inner self who wants to hang on to the possibility of getting back with Gavin. Aya read the note. Tears flowed down her cheeks when she read what Gavin wrote. "I fu*ked up again" Aya gruntled in frustration.
