Aya just ruined her second chance with a man that truly loves her. She is contemplating her life choices. Is the world conniving to punish her? She was desperate to find the right guy for her and when she did… She pushed him away not just once, but over and over again. Aya understands if Gavin completely leaves her. Putting herself in Gavin's situation, she would not bother getting back to a woman with such an attitude. “I am a woman that is undeserving of true love.” She blurted out in frustration, believing no one would ever love her the way she is.
The two guys walked away from Aya like she wanted, but Gerard pushed Gavin from the back and shouted at him. “Hey jack**s! How dare you put up an act like that? You are luck that I've been real patient with you. Don’t you ever forget that you are nothing compared to me. I can get you eliminated in this world anytime I want.” Gerard threatened Gavin.
He clearly doesn’t know who Gavin is. The corners of Gavin’s mouth quirked up as he sized up Gerard. The way he looks at Gerard sent him chills as if he stepped on landmine and was so afraid to move an inch. “Do you know that I eat death threats for breakfast?” Gavin cackled as he rubbed his chin.
Gerard could take a leak in fear. He did not imagine Gavin could be this scary. “Boo!” Gavin suddenly shouted. It sent Gerard away fleeing for his life. Gavin laughed and shook his head while Gerard ran like a decapitated chicken. Gerard rode his car and sped off.
Gavin walked back in the direction of his shop. He glanced back at Aya and saw her reading his note. “It might not be too late for me.” He thought when he saw Aya’s reaction. He decided to let the situation cool down and come back for Aya later in the evening.
He sat on his swivel chair and spun it around like a little kid. Gavin could not take off the smile on his face. He keeps reminiscing the scene at the store earlier. Gavin misses the taste of Aya’s supple lips and the feel of her body against his. He shook his head, remembering why other people think that his feelings for Aya as superficial.
Gavin wants to know more about Aya, but how will he do that when Aya won’t let him? “Social media?” The idea popped into his head. He believes it is not for him, but for Aya he might try to take a peek. He typed “Sofia White” on the internet search engine.
His eyes widened when he saw the results… “I did not know she was famous online…” He mumbled. The greatest surprise for Gavin was the search result of a s*x scandal. It was Sofia and three other guys. Was she drugged and r***d? Or was it her rebellious phase?
“Is this the deep past Steven was talking about?” Gavin’s mind was trying to grasp Sofia’s past. He does not feel disgust or like any of those who commented on her video. He feels sorry for her because this might have brought her great trauma. Gavin actually felt proud of Aya for being strong as he can barely trace this grim past on her now.
Gavin continued searching about Aya, her background amazed him. She studied in an exclusive school in Victoria. “Wait, she is an heir to Solid Dragon Corp?” He can’t believe what he read. “Why is Aya living a simple life in this small town?” Gavin was trying to figure it out, but he can’t quite put a good enough reason for it.
“Is this the reason Don repeatedly told me that; I am not worthy of Aya?” Gavin remembered Don’s warning. He suddenly realized that Don was correct. No matter how hard he works, he can never match Aya’s wealth. He is nothing compared to them.
Gavin made up his mind; Aya is really not the one for him. He cannot drag Aya down with him; he will no longer force himself on her. He will respect Aya and her family’s decision. Tonight is the last night that he will talk to Aya about his feelings for her.
Gavin walked towards Aya’s store, he repeatedly practiced his goodbye speech for Aya. He aims to be polite and thankful for letting him love her even for just a short period.
“Help!”
Gavin heard Aya screaming, he looked around and saw Aya was being dragged by two men while Gerard stood there watching. Gavin ran as fast as he could, maybe even faster than when the mafia hunted him. They outnumbered Gavin; he knows it and he is smart enough to know that his brawns are not enough to rescue Aya.
He examined the area and saw a man unconscious on the corner; Gavin checked him and realized it was the same man that was following him and Aya before. He thought that this man was Gerard’s body guard, thinking about it.
"This man is probably Aya’s bodyguard." Gavin was certain.
"Stop this madness! Gerard, please. I'm begging you." Aya was pleading to Gerard. Gavin's heart is pounding inside his chest when he heard Aya. He was determined to save her. He must help her at all costs.
He patted the man's pocket for a phone and quickly dialed emergency services. Gavin looked around to use anything as a weapon and luckily there were some loose bricks at the side of the road. Gavin crouched at the side of Gerard’s car. He used the bricks to smash Gerard’s windshield.
The loud thud followed by a crashing sound alerted Gerard’s guards. They went outside and were immediately greeted with solid bricks on their faces, the instantly fell to the ground. In a blink of an eye, Gavin jumped over the hood of Gerard’s car and stepped on his two guards who were unconscious on the ground.
Gavin’s piercing gray eyes focused on Gerard who retreated to the back end of the store. Gavin locked Aya’s store from the inside. Then he glanced in Aya’s direction and saw her shaking in fear. It was obvious that the incident traumatized her or did it trigger her old trauma? He patted her head, trying to calm her down. Gavin helped her stand up and walk her towards the counter to take cover.
“Aaaah!” Gerard shouted as he hit Gavin with a bottle of wine. Gerard laughed as he was able to break the bottle on Gavin’s head.
Instead of checking his head, his instinct was to check Aya if there were any fragments of the broken bottle on her. “I’m okay.” Aya stuttered. Gavin smiled at her. He stood up and stretched his neck side to side with that weird bone cracking sound. Then he clenched his fist, popping his knuckles.
Gerard expected Gavin’s retaliation as he was on fighting stance holding the neck of the bottle he crashed earlier. But it did not deter Gavin; instead, it made him even scarier. His eyes are burning with anger, it’s like you can see hell straight into his eyes.
Gerard tried to strike Gavin with his makeshift weapon. Gavin caught Gerard’s hand and squeezed it so hard he dropped his weapon on the floor. Gavin pulled in Gerard towards him and his right knee greeted his mid torso.
Gerard’s breath escaped his mouth, and he fell to the ground on his knees coughing, gasping for air. But Gavin is not planning on letting him off easily. “You ruined my best shirt with that red wine, bastard.” He said while Gerard was shaking in fear. Gavin lunged another kick on Gerard, but this time; it landed on his back.
“Ahhh, enough please…” Gerard was begging Gavin to stop. Instead of pity, it ignited further fury on Gavin.
“Son of a bit*h! I heard Aya beg you to stop, but did you stop?” He angrily lifted Gerard from his knees as he grabbed his collar. He pushed him against the wall and landed punches on his face left and right. Gavin was merciless; blood started squirting out of Gerard’s face. He could not track how many blows hit him until he was not able to stand on his own.
“wee oooh wee ooh,”
Sound of police siren echoed in the neighborhood. The dark night turned bright with the flashing red and blue lights. The police forced their way into the store as it was locked.
Police officers held on to Gavin’s fist as he was not yet down throwing down his rage on Gerard. Just in time, Don and Danny came into the store and saw the store in chaos. Don secured Aya and took her to his room. Danny, on the other hand talked to the officers on the scene.
Gavin, walked away from the store, he intended to go home. He knows Danny will take care of everything. But on his way out, he was feeling a little light-headed.
"Gavin! Gavin!" Aya shouted as she came out running from her store.
Gavin turned around to look in Aya's direction. She embraced Gavin' tightly as she sobbed. "Thank you for saving me, Gavin. I'm sorry for everything I did and said."
