Gavin could not sleep with the thought of Don’s actions. It deeply offended him that he thought he was that type of person. He would never forget how he basically owes Don his life for the second time now. But his gesture with the money is like killing whatever is left of him while trying to change his ways and live a decent life.
As soon as the sun showed itself in the morning sky, he hit the streets, not minding the big bandage at the back of his head. Looking like a man on a mission, he went directly to Don’s house. While Gavin does not want to cause a scene, he intends to leave without a word, just give the money back to Don and not utter a word.
Gavin knocked on the door, but no one was answering the door. He sat on the stairs for a few minutes; he noticed the police officers entering Aya's store. Gavin looked around, his eyes wandering to that lookout he saw last night. And there he was, sitting at the coffee shop across the street. It confirmed Gavin's suspicion about that man.
A few minutes later, the police officers left, but Don or anyone from the house hasn't returned yet. Gavin feels awful holding the money for himself. He peeked to Aya’s store and saw her busy with the CCTV. "Probably what the policemen needed from her earlier." Gavin mumbled.
He puffed his chest and exhaled loudly, gathering his determination to talk to Aya. “Good morning, Aya.” He greeted her casually, like he would to any other woman. This hit him hard; like a dagger straight to the heart. On the contrary, he wants this woman in front of him to feel like she is the most special girl for him.
Aya could not even answer him. She did not expect to see Gavin this early, especially after discovering the truth he hid from her.
Gavin knew that Aya was hesitant to talk to him, but he just sucked up his courage to get it over with. He took out the envelope of money from his pocket. “Can I just ask a small favor from you? Please give this back to your brother. I can’t accept it.”
“Sure.” Aya answered briefly. She wants to know the truth so bad but Don should be the one to answer to her. She is a hundred percent sure Gavin will not spill out information even if she would interrogate him.
He stepped back and thanked Aya. Gavin had to leave as fast as he could. He does not want Aya to ask him about that envelope, but it was the only option for him. Besides, Don and Aya should talk about it so he can fully move on. No baggage, no lies, no secrets.
Aya watched Gavin go out of her store. She checked the envelope and was taken aback when she saw the bundled cash and note from Don.
“This brother has a lot of explaining to do.” Aya muttered angrily.
The time moved too slowly for Aya. It is getting dark outside and her good-for-nothing brother is still not around. “God, I could go back to Gavin, after this…” She realized thinking why Gavin broke up with her is because of her brother. And the one who keeps him from coming back to her is also because of him… at least from her perspective.
Aya stayed in Don’s living room. She kept the light dim while waiting for her brother. Aya spent her time watching those fun, sweet and steamy moments she recorded from the CCTV earlier. She instantly hid her phone when she heard the front door unlocked. "The jerk brother is finally here." She thought as she watched him go inside the house.
“Oh, God!” Don shrieked when Aya suddenly stood up. “What are you doing creeping like that in the dark?” Don scolded Aya who was staring directly at him with her arms crossed her chest.
Don walked closer to Aya, and without warning, Aya slammed the envelope on the coffee table. “No, you explain everything to me, brother. I have all the time in the world to hear your excuses.” She said in a serious tone. The expression of disgusts on her face did not escape Don’s eyes.
“What did he tell you?” Don was obviously pissed off at Gavin for outing him.
Aya glared at Don. “Oh, it would surprise you that he did not tell me a thing. All he said was, please give this to Don. I can’t accept it. Then he left!” Aya sat on the couch and cried. “He freaking left! Are you happy now?” This is the first time she cried like this in front of her brother, not even during that incident that no one talks about.
Don’s weakness is his sisters’ tears. He knows she is fragile amidst the angst she always opts to show. He knows she cried back then even if she tried to hide it. And now his beloved sister is crying because of him. He sat beside Aya and tapped her shoulders. “I have my reasons.” That was all he could say.
“That’s bullsh*t. You actually have reasons for destroying my relationship with Gavin? For the first time in my life, someone loved me for me. And now you destroyed for your selfish reasons?” Aya could not believe what Don just said.
Don still could not tell his reason, that’s why he lost his option to argue his case. “I’m sorry.” He said and lowered his head.
Aya stood up but wanted to pour out her heart before she left Don’s house. “I will do everything to get back to Gavin. I don’t care if I have to beg him. You can’t stop me.” She opened the door but made her case clear before she shut the door. “Also, if something bad happens to Gavin because of you. You can forget that you have a sister!”
Aya forcefully closed the door; they felt her anger as the door vibrated the whole second floor. She went to her house to plan her next move. She would need the help of the other queens.

“Ding,” Aya created a group chat and titled it “Sofia White needs her Knight back.”
“Babes, where are you guys? Help me, please! How do I get back to Gavin?” Aya was bold and unfiltered; she lay down her intentions clear to the queens.
“Just got off from work. The most important thing, let him sleep, give him rest.” Tyrone who is always tired and sleepy answered Aya first.
“Ok, but I will need something more effective for tomorrow.” Aya replied.
“Bring him medicine for his injuries.” Steven gave Aya an excellent suggestion.
“Thanks Stevie! I will try to do this tomorrow.” Aya responded with an emoji face.
"You better be ready for me tomorrow Gavin." Aya smiled thinking of her plan for tomorrow.
