Aya nodded her head. She gave Gavin a faint smile. She would not want him to see her in pain. “So you are looking for closure.” Aya mumbled.
Gavin sat up. He nodded and squeezed Aya’s hand. “Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. The times I spent with you were my happiest.” He said it with sincerity. “Even if I was just one of those men, the chance you gave me was more than enough.” Gavin said, while he tried his best to stop his tears from falling.
Aya smiled at Gavin. She held his face and kissed him gently on the lips. “You are welcome, babe. I enjoyed my time with you as well.” Gavin hugged Aya and did not say a word. “This is really the end for us?” Aya asked Gavin. He nodded in response.
“Goodbye.” She said before she let go of Gavin’s embrace. Aya stood up and was about to go when Gavin quickly grabbed her arm.
“Aya, wait. I’ll take you home.” He can't let Aya going home alone after the incident. Aya took off Gavin’s hand on her arm.
“I’m okay, Gavin. It is you who needs to take a rest.” She insisted to go home. Aya walked away from Gavin and did not bother to look at him again. Gavin tried to stand up to catch up with Aya.
“Blag.”
The loud thud of Gavin hitting the floor made Aya come rushing back to Gavin’s side. “Gavin!” She shouted with worry. “I told you to rest! Geez, you are too stubborn, Gavin!” She helped Gavin back to his bed.
“You are the stubborn one.” He commented, as he was able to sit back on his bed. Gavin suddenly felt dizzy for suddenly standing up.
“What?” Aya glared at Gavin.
“You insisted on being with me tonight, but look at you now insisting on leaving me and going home alone.” Gavin said it with his obviously frustrated tone. He messed his hair and covered his face with his hands.
“Are you really this dense, Gavin?” Aya said in a louder voice. “I wanted to stay here because I thought we had a chance to fix us. But you just shut your door on me. Do you still expect me to lie here next to you? I’m not that desperate for you, Gavin.” Aya poured out her heart to Gavin.
She rested her hands on her hips while waiting for Gavin's response.
“I’m sorry, I’m just worried about you.” Gavin lowered his head. "And, about us. There are just too many things in between us that we can never change, and I don't want you to live miserably because of me." His answer was gibberish to Aya's ears, but she did not care much anymore.
“I will call my brother. You don’t have to worry about me.” Aya made sure, Gavin will no longer have a reason to hold her still. Gavin followed her to the office where they waited for Don. They did not have to wait before Don arrived with Danny.
Gavin is still not over the fact that he is alive standing face to face with Danny. “Let’s talk.” Danny said to the pale Gavin.
Aya turned around when she heard Danny talk to Gavin. Even if they are not in a good standing, she does not wish anything bad to happen to Gavin. Don prevented her from coming back for Gavin. “It’s okay, Danny will not hurt him.” Don assured Aya.
Danny closed the office door and sat on Gavin’s swivel chair like a boss. “I know you. I heard so much cursing from Julian and Max when you escaped. You know me, right?” Danny asked Gavin.
Gavin nodded his head, afraid of offending Danny. He knows how dangerous he is because of his position.
“You see, I can throw you out of Hudson anytime and my family will pick you up from there. If you know what I mean.” Danny said as he puffed his cigar.
Gavin swallowed hard, thinking of his miserable death.
“Don’t worry, I won’t do that. My boyfriend still treats you as a friend. I will keep mum about your existence in this city.” Danny said it straight to the point.
Gavin was not sure where his thought should fall; his safety and security at the moment or Danny’s relationship with Don. Nevertheless, he thanked Danny for his consideration.
“One last thing, Don wanted to relay this message for you.” Danny handed Gavin a small envelope to Gavin. “I’m off. I got to teach that ugly mother fu*ker a lesson.” He said and rode his motorbike.
Gavin opened the envelope. It was some cash and a note. “Gavin, please accept this for the compensation for your injuries. Thank you for helping Aya, but I still don’t want you for her.”
Gavin felt disgusted with Don’s attempt to buy his feelings for Aya. Although he is not planning to pursue her anymore, it is not because of Don’s disapproval. “Damn, Don really thinks he can use their money to shut me down.” He mumbled.

“Good morning, Miss.” Two police officers entered Aya’s store. It surprised her to see them here since she thought her brother already took care of them.
“What can I do for you officers?” she asked them politely with a smile.
The police officer looked around before he spoke. “I was wondering if your CCTV camera her are recording? This is in aid of our investigation.”
Aya nodded. In fact, the recorder of the CCTV is just below the counter. She switches the monitor of her point of sales to the CCTV mode and played the recording selecting last night.
She saved a copy of the incident and gave it to the officers.
“Thanks Ms. White. This is an isolated incident; we can assure you that Hudson is still the safest place in the state.” The police officer assured Aya of her safety.
“Yes, except for that drunk man last time.” She remembered that time Gavin had an argument with a drunk customer.
“Drunk? When was this?” The police officer took out his notepad, waiting for the details.
“I will check my footages and send them to you if necessary.” Aya responded, as she did not want to hold up the officers longer than they should.
“Alright ma’am.” He raised his hat before he left.
Aya realized she can’t skim the footage with the officer present. There’s just too much of Gavin and Aya’s rendezvous captured by the CCTV. Still, Aya chose to watch save those footages of her and Gavin and then deleted it on the DVR. She did not want anyone else to get to see those scenes except her. Perhaps treat them as a little remembrance from him?
She then went on the exact date she would not forget the day Gavin broke up with her. She skimmed the recording for the earlier timestamp to see who that drunkard was. No one came into the store and talked to Gavin except…
The truth dawned on Aya. “My brother, my own brother betrayed me!”
