Aya was pacing uncomfortably in her store. “Should I tell Gavin about it?” The situation conflicted with Aya’s thoughts. She can’t risk Gavin getting mad at Gerard at this point. If he beats him up again, he might be the one ending up in jail.
“I got to talk to Don.” She was biting her nails. Her desperation is apparent. With their previous altercation about Gavin, Aya is keeping her fingers crossed that Don will still be interested in helping them out.
“Where are you right now? I need to talk to you, please.” Aya said it directly to her brother. Aya wanted an answer before Gavin comes to pick him up.
“I’m here at the bar. What do you need? “Don is sensing that Aya was upset about something. She is not the type to call him first and plead for a favor, especially now that they have a long-standing rift because of Gavin.
“I’m in my store.” Aya knows Don is still not okay with Gavin but they need his help at the moment he is the best way out of the crappy situation they are in.
“Okay, stay there. I will be there in a few minutes.” Don replied. He is strict with Aya, but even though he is against her relationship with Gavin, he would never let Aya down. Don loves his sister so much; he supported her moving to Hudson.
When Don came, Aya invited him to her house. She did not want her new staff to hear what she was about to say to her brother. Don took a deep sigh as he already sensed that this was something serious.
“Gerard came here earlier.” Aya started explaining to Don. He was calm, but when he heard Gerard’s name, it triggered his anger.
“Oh, that scum did not yet learn his lesson, huh? If it wasn’t for his father; he would rot in jail today.” He said out loud. It stunned Aya. She hasn’t seen him this mad in a long time.
“Well, my problem involves the mafia.” She knows this is a sensitive topic for Don.
He cleared his throat and asked her for more information. “What about it?”
“Gerard said that Julian was starting to wonder why he was told not to touch Gavin. In three months’ time, Gavin’s amnesty in Hudson would lapse and they can come here for him. Gerard also said that Julian hired the rival Mafia to eliminate Gavin for him since his family cannot do it themselves.” Aya’s voice was cracking she cannot accept the fact that those men are plotting for the life of her loved one.
Don nodded. “This is the reason I wanted you to stay out of his life. The gangsters and mafias lives are complicated as it is. I told you repeatedly it is not for you. Remember, you moved here to have a more quiet life, but look at you now. You are dragged into this mess.” He reminded Aya.
“Okay, enough. Please go if you will not be of help. Leaving Gavin is not an option here.” She was firm in her stand.
Don let out a heavy sigh. “You are too stubborn. You never listen.” He commented to his sister.
Aya slumped down on her sofa. “You are the stubborn one. Why can’t you understand the fact that I love him?” Her tears fell down like waterfalls. Don instantly embraced her.
“Don’t cry. I’ll see what I can do. I’ll talk to Danny. For now, keep this to yourself. We have three entire months to try to figure out the best course of action,” He said and comforted Aya.

Aya tried her best to hide the situation from Gavin. The weeks that passed were grueling for her. She could not tell Gavin what’s bothering her and she cannot enjoy her time with him. She hates how fast time flies when they are together. It could only mean that the expiration of his treaty in Hudson is nearing its time.
The two were cuddling in bed, Aya’s head rested to his chest. Because of the issue, this is the only type of intimacy they have. Gavin is not complaining though, he understands Aya completely. The mere fact of waking up sleeping and waking up together is more than enough for him.
“Babe, what do you think of moving out of the city?” Aya asked Gavin randomly.
It stunned Gavin; it is not something he thinks of especially now that he just started earning and establishing his life in Hudson. “I haven’t thought of it. Are you thinking of moving?” He asked Aya.
“Well, sort of.” Aya said to Gavin not wanting to hint more to him. “I just thought of having a fresh start somewhere with you.” She added.
“I’d love that babe. Though I’m not sure if I can provide you with everything you want as of the moment. One thing is I can promise you, though. I will work hard.” Gavin kissed Aya’s forehead.
She felt a little better that it will not be hard to convince Gavin out. They just have to time it so that they can move out without alarming any group involved. “Thank you babe, I will work too and could chip in a few bucks for our home you know.” Aya chuckled.
Gavin embraced Aya tight. “What I have is yours. What you have is yours. Use your money for your own wants. I will do my best to provide you with everything you need.” He reminded Aya.
“My boyfriend is truly the best.” Aya thanked Gavin.
“Speaking of having a great boyfriend, what are your plans for your birthday?” He asked her, wanting to get some alone time with her.
“Well, usually the Queens set it up for me. We go to the bar and celebrate.” Aya admitted to Gavin that she does not a final plan yet. She was too busy thinking of their quiet escape she did not even remember her own birthday.
“That’s great then, I have you all to myself on the ninth,” He said his intentions.
Aya furrowed her eyebrows. “Ninth? Hey Mr. Gavin Knight, you got my birthday wrong!” Aya protested to Gavin.
He smirked at Aya. “I want to be with your when the clock strikes twelve. I want to be the first one to greet you.”
Aya blushed at Gavin’s plans. “So you want to celebrate my birthday like new year’s eve?” She clarified it to Gavin.
“Oh, definitely, complete with fireworks and stuff.” He smiled naughtily at Aya.
Aya pinched his nose when she saw his mischievous smirk. “Why do I have a feeling that you are thinking of a different type of explosion?”
