“Good evening," Lucia replied with a smile. "Hmm, what wine can you recommend to me?” Lucia asked Aya as her eyes were browsing the wine shelf behind Aya. “It depends on the type of food you are going to partner it with.” Aya answered politely, even if she finds it hard to be casual to Gavin's new coach. She wants to assess her. Although looking at her makes her feel all the more insecure. She is a goddess, classy and sexy at the same time. “It is impossible for Gavin not to like this woman.” She blurted as Lucia cupped her chin, deciding which wine to get. “Actually, I don’t know what type of food he prepared for dinner.” Lucia muttered as she was trying to decide which wine to choose. “Is he a red meat or white meat type of guy?” Aya asked Lucia. Deep inside, it would bother her if Lucia could answer this question. She does not even know what Gavin likes. “Well, the past weeks that we’ve been together. All we ate was ramen, chicken, burgers, fish and chips. I think that is the type of guy he is.” Lucia answered with a smile. Aya felt like an outcast in Gavin’s life. She does not share a past with him other than those steamy moments. "Is my relationship with him superficial? Are we all about making out and having s*x? Is it just physical attraction between us?" Aya's thoughts swallowed her whole.   “What do you think, Miss? Miss?” Lucia interrupted Aya’s musing. “Ahm, yes? Oh, sorry I was just thinking of something. By the way, I figured, that guy would enjoy beer more. Well, more than wine, I mean.” She answered stuttering. Aya would hate to think that Gavin would take Lucia to a formal dinner, that would a blow directly to the heart. “Oh, good idea. Then I’ll go get some beers there.” Lucia pointed at the chillers and smiled at Aya. She slowly turned her back to go to the chiller area. “Hmm, she’s so nice and beautiful. It is hard to hate her. Gavin must be really happy meeting someone better than me.” Aya frowned, thinking about it. Lucia got a 6pack of beer and walked back to the counter. “Here it is, miss. I am not a big drinker; I think this would be enough for us.” She took out her card to pay for the beer. Aya kept that fake smile on her face until Lucia got off the store. She pouted her lips and rested her head on the counter. “She’s not even a drinker, so pure… How would Gavin see me now? Compared to her, I’m just a speck on his coaches’ beauty.” Aya wanted to scrutinize Lucia, but she ended up appreciating her more and feeling worse. Lucia even waved her goodbye and thanked her, not knowing that Aya has prejudices on her.   *** Gavin ordered burgers and chicken. This is the type of food he eats frequently just because it is handy. He usually multitask, working while eating. Lucia calls him a true workaholic. There are people who work overtime for the sake of extending their work hours while Gavin compresses as much work as he can even outside his working hours. “I’m here. I bought us some beers.” Lucia announced as she entered the office. “Nice, I haven’t had one in the longest time.” Gavin answered. He prepared the table and invited Lucia over. The two ate comfortably. Gavin’s courses were finally over. And now finally, they can relax. “Are you okay?” Lucia asked Gavin who gobbled his food. He seems starved. Lucia noticed how he eats for the times they ate together. He always appears to be in a rush.  “Yeah,” He almost cannot utter a single world properly. “Take it easy. Do you know that when you eat slower, you can enjoy the food more?” She chuckled. Gavin swallowed his food and chug his drink. “I don’t know. Ever since I was a kid, this is how I ate.” He paused, analyzing himself. “Well, maybe because living in the streets was hard for me as a child. I went to dumpsters for food, and ehm, it was not the tastiest one could find, but it was enough to ease my hunger.” Lucia’s eyes turned watery hearing Gavin’s story. “I’m sorry, I actually thought you are like Steven; a rich kid that is itching to spend money.” “Hey, don’t tear up for me. It was all in the past. I learned so much from my experiences. It’s good though you actually think, I’m rich?” Gavin laughed. The days they spent together, this is the first time that they are actually talking on a deeper level. Lucia wiped her tears and laughed with Gavin. After finishing their meal, the two of them went near the window. The night sky was beautiful, there are a lot of stars tonight, it was a romantic background.  Lucia looked at Gavin who downed his third bottle. She observed his features. She smiled and admired him silently.   “You don’t see me as a woman do you?” Lucia confronted Gavin. Her question surprised Gavin. He took time before answering. Actually, this is the first time he glanced at her beyond what he sees every day for the past weeks. “Oh, she is actually pretty and hot, but Aya is still prettier and hotter.” Gavin thought to himself. Lucia laughed loudly, seeing Gavin flustered. She caught him off guard. Gavin wants to remain polite with her. He could not find the right response for Lucia. “It’s okay silly. You know this is the first time that I met someone like you.” She gulped her beer, explaining to Gavin her situation. “I am a lesbian. I feel comfortable working with you because I know that you are not objectifying me or anything of that sort.” Her revelation Gavin, a little; but after knowing the six drag queens, revelations about gender identity like this were not much of a big deal for him anymore. “Oh, okay, it's cool. It’s good then that you feel comfortable working with me. I feel the same.” He raised his bottle for Lucia. She did the same. "It's not that I don't find you attractive, you are but, I'm too blinded by love." He laughed at his own cheesy line. “Gavin, I hope you don’t mind. I have to ask you something." Lucia asked Gavin, hoping  "Sure, what is it?" Gavin was curious about Lucia's question.  "I'm leaving tomorrow, but I saw this really pretty girl in the store where I bought these beers. I'd like to know her before I leave. Do you know her?” Lucia asked Gavin with a serious face. “Do you mean the girl with the smooth alabaster skin? Her long lashes and big eyes adds to her mesmerizing gaze. She also has a small pointed nose.” Gavin sighed before he continued describing the woman in the store. “Her red supple lips. Oh, I can’t get enough of those lips. Did you notice how her short wavy black hair falls to her face perfectly framing it?” Gavin grunted “Ahh, that petite body, with the curves. I can go crazy.” He continued. Gavin’s answer stunned Lucia. “Yes, I think we are talking about the same woman.” “She’s my girl, Aya. Sofia White” Gavin admitted it without blinking an eye. He could go on and tell everything he loves about Aya. “Oh, Sofia White; the fairest of them all, and you are his knight in shining armor, Mr. Gavin Knight?” Lucia said as she chuckled. “Okay, I give up. She’s all yours.” She further joked at Gavin. “Seriously, do you think if you are not in the picture, I might have a chance with her?” Lucia asked Gavin whose beer almost flowed through his nose. “Isn’t it amazing how love can melt even the toughest guys? You are clearly in love, my brother.” Lucia tapped Gavin’s shoulder. *** Aya stood across from Gavin’s office, looking at them from a distance. She saw Lucia and Gavin’s endless laughter. “I’ve never seen him laugh hard like this. He sure looks happy. I guess he doesn’t need me in his life anymore.” Aya turned around with tears flowing down her face.
