Ava

Aya walked to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. This talk with Ava is getting interesting. Maybe, the fact that they don't really know each other is what makes this conversation lighter; no judgement from each side.  “Thank you. This is silly, talking to someone I don’t know. But I have to admit, talking to you could be my safe place right now.” Aya replied. “I know. It is also the first time I actually did this. Can I call you sis?” Ava asked. “Sure, then I’m going to call you sis too!” Aya became more confident about talking to a stranger. “I am actually envious of you sis, that guy looks seriously in love with you. How do you get a hot guy fall in love like that?” Ava joked to Aya, trying to make the situation lighter. “I am lucky, indeed. I love him too, it’s driving me crazy.” Aya answered. "Honestly, you are the first person I've spoken to intimately these past months. It was hard for me to open up my feelings to anyone." Aya added.  Gavin felt like an arrow pierced his heart. It pained him that Aya went through a rough patch on her own. How he wishes he could wrap his arms around her right now. “Oh, (hug emoji) don’t you have family or friends with you there? I think it is important for mental health to have someone to talk to, you know…” Ava’s advice was heartfelt. “I have a family, it’s just that we are not on good terms right now.” Aya admitted it to Ava. “Ugh. What the heck Ava does not personally know me… might as well pour my heart out to people who won’t judge me.” Aya thought after sending her reply to Ava. “That sucks. Let me guess, they don’t like the hot guy for you?” Ava responded with a witty comment. “How do you know?” Aya sent her reply in a few seconds like she was in a hurry to know. “It was just a guess. Basing from the note he left for you, he said something about being capable. I have a feeling your folks do not think he is capable for you.” Ava’s answer was as sharp as one can be. It was too accurate that Aya accidentally spit out her coffee. “You got it spot on.” Aya replied as she was wiping off the coffee on her. “Then do you have any plans of going here to be with him?” Ava asked an eye opener. “I want to be with him, no doubt about that. But I respect his decision. I want to better myself too. But in my current condition, I don’t think I can do that.” Aya replied, and just like that tears fell from her eyes. “Are you sick or something?” Ava hurriedly replied. “No, sis. It’s just that I am lacking motivation to do anything right now. I locked myself in an old villa up in the mountain. I miss him too much.” Aya hugged Gavin’s pillow. It is as if she can still feel his presence in this room. “Sis, be strong. I am sure it would break his heart if he finds out that you are not doing well. If you break his heart, I am taking him. Haha,” Ava replies are witty as always. “Hey, you know what’s strange? Talking to you is almost talking to him. He has a great sense of humor and he can be serious at times too.” Aya replied, hoping she was right; that maybe she is really talking to Gavin right now. “Ew. I just want you to know, I am straight as an arrow. And I’d take that guy over you at any time.” Ava was again trying to make Aya laugh. “Hahaha, true. Thank you for coming at this point in my life.” Aya responded. She is sincerely thankful for Ava’s time. She was feeling hopeless and depressed for the past few days that she even thought of ending everything completely. Ava today is like a ray of sunshine that gave a new light to her gloomy life. “Got to go… Have errands to run! Exercise or eat, be well the hottie won’t like you weak and sick,” Ava sent her last message. Aya felt like they knew each other before, like a best friend that suddenly showed up on her doorstep only that she showed up on her notifications. Gavin went down to his room when he noticed the time. It is almost dinner time and surely, the mysterious woman would call for a delivery. And just like clockwork, the moment he arrived the mystery woman just completed her order. “I think she likes you.” Bill said as he was preparing the order. Gavin coughed at Bill’s comment. “Hmm, maybe she does or maybe not. But I honestly don’t care; here.” Gavin showed his phone’s wallpaper to Bill. “Oh, don’t tell me that is your fiancée.” Bill laughed at Gavin. “Really, she is.” He was proud to announce. “Stop sh*tting me. That is just some model you downloaded.” Bill mocked Gavin again. Gavin laughed hysterically. “That is actually a complement, my man. Isn’t she really gorgeous?” Gavin was in a daze, looking at Aya’s photo on his phone. “No one would believe you, boy. That girl is too pretty to be real.” Bill added. Gavin shook his head and showed Bill his picture with Aya. “Here, you better believe me now.” Gavin showed it to Bill again. “Eh, altered photo. Her face is too familiar to me. I can’t remember where I saw her before’” Bill still insisting that it was not true. “Old man, just wait when I finally bring her to you.” Gavin was determined to introduce Aya to his newfound family. "Okay, I'll wait for that day. But you have to deliver this food to the mystery woman first." Bill said as he handed Gavin the paper bag. Gavin accepted the bag with a big grin on his face. He left the store in such a good mood he was even whistling a tune. Bill shook his head, smiling when he saw how happy Gavin was. The first time he saw him this happy. "Is that woman on his phone real? I could swear I saw her before." Bill cupped his chin as he was thinking deeply about who Aya was.
