Our eyes met. He raised a hand in greeting and favored me with a disarming smile. Even though he had to be close to thirty years my senior, it was hard to deny the fact that he looked pretty hot. Again, there was a collective turn of heads, but now curiously aimed at me as he strode purposefully in my direction. “Miss O’Dell,” he crooned, “I am delighted you were able to make it.” Preening like a peacock with tail feathers fanned out, he gestured towards the food-laden buffet tables. “Be honest.
