CHAPTER 31 Nothing quite matches the beauty and solitude of the Arizona desert. Riding Starlight Sky for the first time since my harrowing ordeal, I lifted my face skyward, treasuring the glorious sensation of being alive to enjoy the feel of warm sunlight and the gentle breeze caressing my cheeks. I rejoiced at the wide arc of sapphire sky festooned with cottony, white clouds and the dazzling display of spring wildflowers blanketing the rocky hillsides.
