Apparently I must have still appeared skeptical, because Thena pressed ahead on her sales pitch with renewed passion. “This is a fabulous opportunity to research the colorful history of this extraordinary old church and play an integral part in preserving a valuable piece of Arizona’s history. At the same time, you can employ your powers of persuasion to convince Wanda to sell it to us.” She sat back, wearing a look of smug assuredness, and clasped her hands in her lap. “Consider this as well. The advertising revenue produced from Youth Oasis, in tandem with this new entity…” She paused, looking thoughtful, and posited, “perhaps I’ll call it Skin Deep Rejuvenation Spa or some such thing…anyway, it will be a boon to the newspaper’s financial health and the community.”
