"Sign them and leave. Don't return asking for anything," he said.
"What do you mean? Why should I sign this? When we are happily married."
"Happily married," he questioned.
"Yes, happily. We have done so much together. You were just whispering sweet, nothing to my ear while we made love."
"You're pathetic, useless, ugly, and most of all, infertile. I didn't fall in love. You i***t, I needed a child to claim my inheritance. If you had a girl, I would have thrown her out along with you."
"All you wanted was an heir to take over your lousy company."
"Excuse me, what did you say?"
"You heard me, all you do is take credit for what your brother does."
I saw him shake with anger. He didn't like it when someone questioned his role.
Yes, he was brilliant, but there was always someone who would be better.
"Baby, what's taking you so long? I have heard this annoying squeaky voice." she walks in with a little bump on her.
"Why is she pregnant? Who is she?" I said.
"This here is Sabrina. She is carrying my heir," he said, smiling.
Why am I going to let myself be humiliated by this man? I questioned myself.
I smile. I'm not going to let a man make me feel less of a woman. I have dignity and will leave this place with my head held high.
I walked up to him and slapped him. That felt good.
" Fine, divorce me, you lousy cheater, but one day when you realize that she cheated on you bastard, don't come looking for me because, to me, you don't exist anymore."
I quickly signed the divorce papers and packed my things.
It all felt like a dream that had come to an end.
"Hey Elena, I'm glad you signed them. I didn't want to resort to killing you after you stole my life," she said.
Why was her voice so annoying? She sounded like a dying cat. I spoke out loud.
"Elena, I'm sorry. Why are you offending me like that? I just wanted to thank you for giving my son a chance to have a father."
"Why are you sure you will have a boy? What if you have a girl hmm. He's going to throw you out when that happens. What if he wasn't the baby's father? Wouldn't that make him a cuckold?" I said.
Her eyes widened
"You aren't the smartest book on the shelf. You think you are valuable until you're not."
"I am still the real daughter, unlike you who are adopted. She says before dramatically falling on the floor."
What is she talking about? Nobody knows I'm adopted. I thought to myself
Ahhh, she yells Eric, help me.
Eric comes running to her
"What did you do?"
"I didn't do anything. She fell on her own."
"Yeah, right; you are jealous of her because she can have kids, unlike you."
I rolled my eyes.
"No, I think I dodged a bullet. I wouldn't want my kids to have a lousy father."
"If anything happens, I will make you pay."
"You let your family know about the divorce."
"Wait, you have to let them know it was your idea. You know how much they care for you."
"Bye, jerk; good luck getting out of that one."
