Now the name of the tender was the Enterprise : and it was singular that she was one of two schooners built at Baltimore, remarkable for their beauty and good qualities; yet how different were their employments! Both had originally been built for the slave-trade; now one hoisted the English pennant, and cruised as the Enterprise ; the other threw out the black flag, and scoured the seas as the Avenger .
