Chapter Fifty It was four-thirty in the morning. Marsha had just awoken Sam to take his turn standing watch. They were in the lower level of a parking garage tonight. The team found a clear spot with a half dozen skeletal remains and a few old cars. Two of the ORVs were down here. Sleeping mats and sleeping bags were on the ground around the vehicles. Everyone else was sound asleep, and a few were snoring. Sam got dressed, found Wilbur’s leash, and the two of them slowly worked their way up the ramp to where Marsha was pacing. “Okay, girl, your turn, go to sleep.” “Not yet. You need to see something up top.” As Sam started following her, there was a single beep sound from her radio. Ignoring it, she kept walking. The beep happened every five minutes and came from the overhead drone.
