Chapter Fifty-Three
Lucy and Sam led the others away from the parking area. This place had once been a thriving recreational area, and the beauty remained. It was encouraging to see the new construction, happening and knowing that people were putting down roots on the surface again.
“I like it here. It is warmer. More like the temperature we had in the shelter,” Oliver commented.
“Feeling the warmth from the sun on my face is nice,” Kara added with a smile.
Jenny agreed. “Yeah, but the air is different. Thicker.”
“Remember, Jenny, you learned about that in training. That’s because there’s more moisture in the air than we had inside. Right?” Kara looked to her mother for confirmation.
“That’s exactly right. Temperature and humidity constantly change outside,” Lucy explained.
