Chapter Thirty-Six
Tyler was finishing an energy bar when Tasha’s voice came over the radio, “Two men approaching. They appeared suddenly in the middle of the lot. Among all the cars.”
Chief nodded and turned to his son. “There must be a manhole there.”
“Two more just appeared. Four in all,” Tasha advised. “The drone shows six more out by the street. They aren’t approaching, just waiting.”
“Keep the info coming. Let us know of anything that changes,” Chief radioed back.
“I can’t see anything from my location,” Gary advised.
“The second pair to appear in the parking lot are holding back. One has a rifle. He isn’t pointing it in your direction. The group on the street has rifles or shotguns. I can’t tell for sure from the drone angle.”
“What about the ones approaching? Any weapons?” C
