Chapter Thirty-Nine
Lucy, Sam, Chief, and Theresa were the only ones on the team who hadn’t been born in the shelter, and they’d come up with a plan to acclimate the others to the outside world. They would take their time, initially stopping frequently, and explain what they were passing and the significance of what they were seeing. The four would also do all the initial driving as the others were too in awe of what they saw to be safe behind the wheel.
For the last several weeks, all the shelter inhabitants had to navigate random obstructions that Tyler had set up in the halls to help everyone get comfortable walking on uneven ground. These obstructions were to help build up the skills and balance for when they were outside the shelter.
